Hello (1st post!),

I'm new to biking, but i've started to get the modifying bug. I've changed the headlight, added some handguards and i'm now trying to change the indicators.

I have a Rieju marathon pro 125:

which has halogen indicators:

I want to take the bulb out, and swap it with some LED indicators instead. I think I need something like this:

This would avoid the whole "fried egg" look, which is especially applicable to this bike given that it's mainly white. I want to swap the halogen bulbs with led ones, then miss off the amber filter when putting it back together. This would give me clear lenses that are orange when the indicator is on.

The problem:

Unfortunately, the bulbs seem to be stuck. I can twist them anticlockwise a bit, but I then seem to hit a something and they won't turn anymore. I've used quite some force twisting them and i'm afraid that any more may break the bulb.

The bike itself is only one year old, has done 6000 miles and is in generally good condition. I don't think the problem is to do with water and corrosion (mainly because the indicators work) but it is more a problem with me and my mechanical inexperience.

Are indicator bulbs usually this tricky to get out? Should I use more force? Does anyone have any tips on how to remove them?

Any help would be appreciated.

You need to push and twist...

I don't think that method is working here.

I just went into the garage and tried again. I'm really forcing that bulb, but I had the same result as before. It moves about a quarter turn anticlockwise, then stops.

I think I need to undo something else first (maybe the silver reflective plate), or that the bulbs cannot be removed at all (which seems unlikely).

Changing the bulbs is not as easy as this this on my bike.

More force, your bike has identical indicators to most bikes. Give it a proper tug. You don'y need to so anything else. Also, LED, have you got a new relay to go with those new "worse" bulbs? I say worse as LED are directional, You won't see the almighty orange flashing from the side too well.

Have you tried pulling the bulb when it stops?
