Six weeks ago I sent off the "Permanently Exported" part of my V5!
10 days ago I received a refund cheque for VED!
Today I received a VED reminder!
I have just checked on the .gov website and, lo and behold, the bike that I permanently exported, a while ago, is still registered to me in the UK!

Total and utter fukwits, I'll be doing, precisely, nothing about it for the time being, it'll be interesting to see how this pans out, considering, I've received the tax refund.

Fugitive from justice, nice. Thumbs Up

Do you have anything in writing specifically confirming the export? A refund could be for SORN. Although the only way to un-SORN and become liable for VED again would have been to ... uh... pay VED. Eh?

I have nothing in writing from the DVLA to confirm they've done anything at all! All I have is a photo I took of the, signed and dated, "Permanent Export" slip, I posted and a cheque for a VED refund.
AFAIC my part of the bargain ended when I shoved the letter in the post box!

The bike in question has never been SORNed!

I do have a new Cypriot log book, Cypriot VED, Cypriot registration and Cypriot insurance though!

I guess I'm just waiting for the "your vehicle is not insured or SORNed, therefore pay monies" letter, to get the full set!

Could be fun! Wink

They'll never take you alive!

Actually, if you get too much of a suntan they might shoot first.
