My red NSR has adjustable levers and the person I bought it from had them in position 6 out of 6, this meant that the lever was far out and pulling it in a tiny bit would disengage the clutch and the biting point was far out, I however like the biting point closer to the bar as I feel I have more control.
Buying another bike yesterday it too had the biting point far out so the lever only had to be pulled a little bit to disengage, this led to me revving the bike a bit before actually getting to the biting point.
On the way home I started to use two fingers to disengage the clutch and shift while keeping two fingers on the bar.

Just wondered if most people prefer the biting point further out because "quicker shifting" or whatever, discuss.

inb4 'ur mums nipples' biting point

Why only 2 options?

You say OO had it far, you only offer close and middle as options.

Set clutch lever to freeplay as per the manual and just ride.

What does clutch free play have to an adjustable lever?

Shurely it doesn't matter as long as it works for you? I'm sure there's loads of shit that's noob in my riding 'style' but it works for me...

...it's all personal preference and depends on the length of your fingers? Laughing

Not since I discovered that banging it off the rev limiter cuts the engine and works as a quickshifter. Cool

OK, I tried it once, and got a-scared.

As long as it's not 1/4" from the bar, I'm not really worried. They're in different places on the YBR and Bullet, when I swap from one to the other I cope OK without being deaded.

Get on bike, pull clutch in, select first, release clutch.....find biting point and ride. If it's not right, adjust. Not rocket science. No one's opinion matters on this, unless you also like to be told how hot your coffee should be!

Set my adjustable lever to where my tiny salmon hand is comfortable with it, then set my freeplay and bite point as per the manual.

Puts it around 10mm freeplay and in a comfortable place as I've already set the lever distance.

Short fingers here, so as close to the bar as I can get it.
Hubby is a giant with his set to outer space. My fingers slip completely off his lever and I haven't even got to the biting point yet.
Could be just a ploy to keep me off his bike though!

Wait - are you a matron? Thinking

On topic, whatever works.

<Tef>Clutches are funny things. My Enfield needs nearly all the travel to fully unclutch, and it's no featherweight. The Tractor is set to about the middle, and is light and progressive. The Ninja unclutches with the merest whisper of pressure, so needs a good deal of slack in the lever to ensure that it doesn't slip - I should probably look into that.</Tef>
