My bike has been written off, I am keeping the bike and selling it on to the breakers/repair shop that recovered it initially for me.

My question is: what is the deal in this situation regarding the V5? Do I treat it as a normal sale (ie fill in the requisite bits and send the rest off to the DVLA) or do I need to Tell the DVLA the bike has been written off or once it is out of my hands is it no longer my problem?

I'd like to avoid getting into trouble at this stage, having almost resolved this whole sorry affair (in legal terms anyway).

Despite what I may have said, this is not actually a case of quantum superposition, but rather 2 distinct states existing, but being so close together that they appear indistinguishable. Razz

Mark v5 as sold to trader

They will take whatever and either sell on or scrap

Make sure you do this rather then insurance as you will have to pay a dvla bribe in 6 months when breaker scraps bike

Well, would be silly to sell to breakers when you've not offered it here, price fam. Laughing

Look at the V5.

There is a specific section for 'motor dismantlers' or similar.
