Methinks you are splitting (curly) hairs...

Perhaps I am but answer my second statement in context.....

we are basically saying abuse is ok until you include skin or race into it?

I wonder if they would be prepared to dig into their pockets and make up the lost wages from that US footballer who first took the knee and then never got another match as a result?

I’ve just been reminded that the majority of England players immediately took their runners-up medals off after collecting them, which seemed to me to be dismissive of the competition and maybe the opponents, the result too. I’m surprised more wasn’t made of that story.

Wifie commented on that when we were watching the presentation. Anyone know why they did it?

With all due respect, Mr. Stinkwheel, that's very 20th Century. You're considering the only remuneration they value to be financial but today's currency is influence.

(Yes, I've just watched The Social Dilemma.)

After painting a backdrop of "Diversity is Strength" (what's that humming sound? Oh that's just Orwell spinning in his grave at 10,000 rpm) the racial backlash was so inevitable it had to be fabricated Rolling Eyes

On the aforementioned film: depressing. I'm glad I have an inherent distrust of technology.

Apparently they didn't want to carry a reminder of their defeat. A bit pathetic IMO.

Yeah, yeah, they SAY that.

Try paying for coke and hookers with influence and see how far you get.

They’d say disappointment. But when “winning a foul,” claiming a throw-in you know full well isn’t yours, haranguing the referee (cheating) is part of the training, and a culture of “self belief” means you’re always right, it amounts to simple bad sportsmanship. Terrible role models.

Well yes, essential groceries are paid for with money but when you get to that level you get the likes of Lamborghini asking "can we lend you a car you might like?" so they can drop some Instagram photos.

The phrase "there are some things money can't buy" used to refer to trust and loyalty but now entirely dependent on your follower count Sad

Not all of them did but it was the majority for sure. About as sporting as the English fans doing the up and offski from the Stadium as soon as they'd lost.

All about the great game - my arse.

As for the abuse, not ok to drag race into it but absolutely OK to call out that complete hoof of a kick. Saved by a goalie absolutely fine, at least it was between the posts.

Growing up in Newcastle in the 80s, the visible part of Football was always the smashed up town centre on match day, the vile chants from the terraces and the riot police escort for visiting teams.

Wasn't a fan, still not a fan and will never be a fan.

I noticed that as well and thought it just looked like bad loser bottom lip out arseholery.

I think sports people are generally over competative selfish twats. Not all of them but the higher up the standard of player the greater the level of competative obsession almost to the point of being a diagnosis.

I'm not sure she's in the market for hookers.

Why not? I think you're assuming her use for them would be for conventional purposes rather than something more sinister.

Reminds me of that Kenny Everett sketch about all the things that have the royal crest of approval on them. Cigarettes, bacon...who knows, if coke and hookers are of sufficiently high quality... Laughing

If Randy Andy has been rattling his spuds, they'll have the Royal 'Crust' of Approval on them...

An interesting comment from the police......

Marcus Rashford mural graffiti 'not racial', say police

If true (and I say IF) then this has been whipped up into a race hate cacophony by the media. Social or ootherwise

Mind you it must have stuck in the BBC's craw to have to have posted it. Laughing

It was an old skool cock and balls. https://propermanchester.com/news/marcus-rashford-mural-vandalised-with-offensive-graffiti-over-the-weekend/amp/

Odd shaped balls though. Looks like the "artiste" might have been interrupted mud flow and was painting something else, maybe blubbering because he screwed up the biggest kick of his career.

It is true. You have to go digging pretty deep to find what was actually written, whereas if it were racist, it would be plastered all over the internet cos reasons.

That was ages ago.

The recent 'attack on humanity' was something like 'shite in a penalty shootout'. Did find a pic of it a few days ago which is more than the BBC managed, of course Rolling Eyes

And some wonder why the BBC gets so much ridicule. Honestly, if you're still following MSM, there's no hope for you.
