I think you just get used to it. Try just rotating your head, as opposed to sticking your head up and out.
I dont know, i have a faring and i cant remember what it was like with no farings. You will get used to it though. I cant remember it being a problem in my lessons...
I think it was as it was because you didnt expect it. As you get used to it you will be able to do it easily. |

Did you have to do a headcheck to makesure your head was still there?

Since you know you're going to get windblast, you can anticipate it, and you won't get such a surprise. Proper use of your mirrors will minimise the need to make head-checks at high speed, where taking your eyes off the road in front presents a greater danger than at lower speeds, where there tends to be hazards coming at you from all directions.
Definitely make head checks at speed though - there might be another biker behind you, who's come right up behind you and is about to overtake you and the car in front! ____________________ My Old CBR400RR | Bike Oil FAQ | Petrol FAQ |

I find that rather than turning your head to the side, try leaning forward and looking down and behind you. Kind of upside down. Hard to explain. That's what my instructor did and I picked it up from him. Wind doesn't affect you all that much that way.
It's my visor flying open at speed that really gets me though. ____________________ Honda NSR125R -> Suzuki GSXR400R GK76a -> Kawasaki ZX636 B1H -> Honda CBR400RR NC29 -> Nothing  |

I find a sort of down towards the shoulder check is better at higher speeds rather than a up and over technique as per the norm but as was said, with time you'll find a way you will prefer ____________________ If a word is misspelled in the dictionary, how would we ever know?
