Hello lads.

TLDR version:

Powervalve doesn't open when riding a bike but opens when testing with a battery. Valve is clean and the cable is lubed. Likely to be a connection problem. Where should i look?

Longer version:

Aprilia RS 125 power valve started to not work in a random manner - bike had no power on high revs. Sometimes, when just keeping the throttle open from low revs it would jitter and open up like it should.

When i looked into it, i barely took it out. It was all covered in burned gunk. I've cleaned it thoroughly, placed it back in and it had no effect. Same symptoms remained.

Next time, i've left the valve open by placing some zip ties on the solenoid and the bike performed like it should, with an open or no power valve - power on high revs but no power in mid range.

Then i've tested the solenoid (and the valve) with a battery - it was opening and closing like it should. The cable seems to be lubed and it slides open easily when pulling on the cable manually.

This leads me to believe that there is a faulty connection between the solenoid and Rave controller unit. I've checked the connections under the pillion seat - all seems ok, except for the fact that one of the wires (blue one), coming out of Rave controller unit was stretched at a bad angle.

Tomorrow i will be performing a test where i will have a voltmeter connected to solenoid connection coming from the Rave unit and see if it gives any voltage while revving the engine.

So, what do you guys think is the problem here?
