New machine time!
2012 Fireblade, 9k miles when I got it. Stock except for heated grips (how did I cope for so long without these?!?!), tail tidy, and a taller double bubble screen.
Added a stainless Yoshimura R77 so far to make it sound a bit nicer and some Gilles paddock stand bobbins for convenience. Hopefully more in the pipleline, we'll have to see!
It rides so well. Good to be back on a Honda from a brief foray to Yamaha.
Done around a thousand miles in three weeks as I use it for work when the weather is reasonable. Lots of power, lots of handling and it's pretty comfy. Rearsets are a touch high, but not too bad. No idea who the screen is by, but it seems pretty good quality. ____________________ My Flickr

Love the performance of these but can't help thinking the 954-04 models were the prettiest.
Bet it sounds lovely ____________________ Previous: GSF600, FZR600 x2, ZXR750, XT600 Tenere, CB125, CZ125, ETZ 250, ER5, CCM R30, DRZ400, RF600x4, RF900x2, GS500, VTR1000F, 640 SMC, CB250 NIGHTHAWK, GT550x3, GPX750 TE610, CB500, X11x2, SV650, ZING 125, TL1000R,CB250 Superdream, CBR1100XX |

Nice, pics and flyby are where?
I see what you mean about the datedness. I feel the same with my 929, I love the looks but I do think it's a bit tired. I quite like the S1000RR's asymmetrical fairings. It means nothing when you are riding it to be fair but I do like having a smile on my face when you walk round a corner to the bike.
IIRC it was a 08ish R1 you had? How does the blade compare? It had a bit of a grandad reputation around the 06-10 models IIRC but I'm yet to see anything of the newish ones. ____________________ Previous: GSF600, FZR600 x2, ZXR750, XT600 Tenere, CB125, CZ125, ETZ 250, ER5, CCM R30, DRZ400, RF600x4, RF900x2, GS500, VTR1000F, 640 SMC, CB250 NIGHTHAWK, GT550x3, GPX750 TE610, CB500, X11x2, SV650, ZING 125, TL1000R,CB250 Superdream, CBR1100XX |

Probably voltage leaking back through reg rec. Had the same on my 450, unplug it and battery stays up fine.

First ride on the big Suzuki today. Pulls well, handles nicely. OE screen is garbage and will be sticking out of a skip very soon.
Standard exhaust is far too quiet. I will be chucking a slip on as a minimum at it soon and a double bubble screen to make tucking in a bit easier for humans of normal proportions.
Certainly heavier than the Blade, but the seat is a bit softer and the pegs slightly more roomy. Engines feel pretty similar. I still have access to a 2013 Fireblade, so will be interesting to see how they compare. The blade is a little more flickable, but the Suzuki is hardly a big lardy Cottage Pie of a superbike anyway. Brakes have slightly less inital bite, but more feel. Pretty happy overall, mainly as it seems to work properly. I can address the shortcomings pretty quickly, so it's all good. Stay tuned for more fun.
That system went to a good home in the end, so that's good too.
Oh, whilst I remember. No heated grips on this one, and I don't miss them. So meh! ____________________ My Flickr |
