Do you guys/girls have a particularly favourite motivational beverage that's consumed whilst fettling your bike/s? Mine is McEwan's Champion. If I get stuck/annoyed with something I find one helps calm me, two puts me in the zone so I'm a tool weilding MacGyver and three leads me to royally screw up what I started. I now save number three and above for post-fettling celebrations....

😋

Tea is good when booze is a no-no. Add a shot or five of espresso too but I can't use the machine with filthy hands!

I like a pint of homebrew when I'm working in the garage, although lately that has been woodwork rather than tinkering with the bike. Most recent is a clone of proper job I made, which has been going down rather well.

Just freestylin' because I don't drink hot stuff and wouldn't get boozed up with power tools to hand.

I don't do fettling. I'd pay someone to wash the thing for me if I could find anyone to do it.

Irn Bru.

None of your plastic bottle rubbish either. A glass bottle preferably, or a can at a push.

^^^ HT, your mugs, apart from the last one, are all quite girly.

This thread should be expanded to include the type of vessel one prefers one's beverage to be served in when fettling.

I myself favor bone china because I can't stand a thick rim in my mouth.

This may looks like a weak excuse for me to double-entendre, it didn't start out as that, but it slipped in anyway. Embarassed

Oh, back on topic, coffee.

Usually just a can of pop or something to fend off the inevitable rivers of sweat.

If I have anything alkeeholical I just end up making mistakes and forgetting to tighten bolts etc.

Has to be tea. I have a block of wood in the garage purely for the purposes of setting a mug on. The reason being that it is in a position that wont result in it being knocked over, yet easy for wifey to get to without walking through the work zone and disrupting everything (she is tea bringer). The wood also acts as an insulator and reduces heat loss to the environment. Tea cools incredibly quickly if placed on metal benches/tool boxes.

Ice cold juice is my favourite, then just cold juice, then squash or water. Nothing specific for if I'm working with my bikes though.
