Clean sheet up until idiot me decided to use the left lane to turn right while on a one-way street. So preoccupied with not doing this on roundabouts, I totally forgot this rule applies to one way streets. Thought fuckit, probably a minor. Nope, serious fault.

Was apparently meant to follow the kerb to the right, and then turn right.
Which I vaguely recall doing on CBT a dozen times those few years ago.

Woops, that's an expensive mistake.

5th October is the next one.

What did make me feel better about myself, though, is all 4 of us at the test centre failed our tests that day.

You muppet!

I did the exact same thing when I took the test in the IoM, if that makes you feel any better. Laughing

It was lunch hour in the town centre at the time and was at a very busy junction with traffic coming from all directions. I was so concerned with making sure it was safe to turn and trying to suss out if the car coming from the opposite direction was letting me go or not, that I went into automatic mode and entered the one way Street in the left lane (which you'd normally do if it was a two way road) when turning right.

It was classed as a serious fault as there was a small traffic island with an arrow sign to direct you, that I totally missed.

Tbh, I didn't actually realise what I had done until the examiner told me back at the test centre.

Much kicking of oneself was done.

You'll breeze it next time. Thumbs Up

Oh bugger, better luck next time. Reminds me of when I was going at 40 on a road which looked like a 40, but turned out to be a 30. Of course, I'd never make that mistake these days Wink

Mod 2 only took me 6 attempts Laughing

You have just probably made so many of us, myself included, feel so much better about ourselves. Thumbs Up Laughing

If you remember Dave the road through the IOM test center is one way so as you exit on to the road outside there are left and right lanes and you always turn right. I wonder how many have failed at that junction for being in the wrong lane after having not even made it out of the test center lol.

My instructor warned me about that one. Laughing

The bit where I messed up was turning from Richmond Hill into Atholl Street.

I'm guessing you meant Prospect Hill?

I'm so glad i took my test when i did! "Head down there, turn right, keep on turning right till you get back here" then "head down there, turn left, keep on turning left till you get back here" then "ride round the block and when i signal you to stop do so as quickly as possible" then back to the test centre, a few questions and that was it!

Haha yeah there I was in the left lane and the examiner followed the kerb to the right and I was there like ooh fuck. He's done that for a reason.

Anyway, it's set me back another 200 quid.

Fuckit, pay day round the corner anyway. Gonna just laugh it off.

To be honest, the other fella doing his Mod2 that day didn't do any one-ways. This was the first time I got one-ways on my test.

The first time I did Mod 2 for A2 I passed with flying colours cause no shitty bastard one-ways.

The examiner was a bit of a moody one as well. Bet he was taking me down one of the harder routes. I certainly don't remember it being that intense the first time round, but maybe that effect was caused by it pissing down heavily the whole time.

It reminds me.. a familiar test centre around London (no need to be specific) has one route with a one-way road in it, which is the difficult route leading in towards the town, and all other routes easier, leading out. It could easily catch anyone out who didn't see the sign on entering that road. Anyway, better luck next time.

Should have slipped examiner foot massage under the table post test. Bloody power goes to their heads, take £200 out of their wages and I'm sure they'd soon pass more people rather than "fek it tick no box because why not, thankyou come again." See worse mistakes riding daily, load of old balls.

On to the next one. Thumbs Up
