Is it possible to reduce the db noise level of an aftermarket exhaust.

My current one is 105 and i need to drop it to 102/103db.

If you have to pass skrootination then they will (if they are serious) ask you to remove the tape. and if they use a track-side tester then you get shot off your bike on the next lap. Or asked to leave. Which ever comes first.

The get hassle from neighbours that's why they have noise limits.

I had a lovely (read:loud) Yoshi on my CBR which I suspect my bike was jetted for...
Even after rebuilding to get a db killer in there it's still to loud so I'm on the stock exhaust which although quieter has a massive dead stop at 6,500rpm Sad

Much sad face.

I would get an after market can but how to know if its quiet enough Sad

Decibel killer / baffle insert for your exhaust!

Be mindful that whilst it quietens the exhaust down, you're also restricting rate at which heat can be expelled from your system.

So, if you, say for instance have an underseat R1, and decide to bung in after market baffles. This may happen as a result!

Yep, I melted my rear light and undertray! So, if it's close to any bodywork, make sure you stick a bit of reflective heatshield to guard against the radiant heat.

Can you do that so it just passes an MOT and then take it out again?

Cos my Snarley has fuckeroo-loud pipes, and I vaguely remember the guy saying he swapped the cans for the MOT when I bought it (but I didn't get to buy those, just the LOUD ones)

Gonna definitely need something in there to pass the next one Rolling Eyes
