I thought you had to send documents off to the DVLA to get it registered?

I don't know, it's my first time buying a bike.

If I've seen it well online and here, I gotta sign the bike documents and pay the tax. The V5 looks like it can be requested online.

Thanks for the tip, in my case, with a used vehicle, I think I have to go this way...

I'll have to pay the Tax and fill/send the document to the DVLA and wait for the new V5C Smile

The seller is responsible for telling the DVLA about the change of keeper. You get the V5C/2 "new keeper slip" and pay the VED using the number on there.

However, you can (you're not meant to, but...) do the change of keeper yourself if the seller appears to be a lazy scrote. You need the number from the V5C, but as it turns out, that's the same as the number on the new keeper slip, with the first digit removed.

CBT done Very Happy ....now it's time to get the bike and start practising.

I haven't looked in the forum yet, but any advice on a cheap store where I can buy at least a wet suit suit and gloves?

Looks like the rain is coming back, and I don't have the desire of getting a bath while riding.

Well done on the CBT.

Many threads on here about riding gear.
Find the nearest large bike gear store and try stuff on to see what size you are.

A lot of Chinese bikes have questionable quality and parts are often difficult to come by as the factory who manufactured it probably won't exist tomorrow.

I don't think it's so much about the factory closing as it is that either the importer closes or just stops importing from that manufacturer.
Or that the factory stops making that model and it's parts, because they're onto the next model.

I gather that a lot of stuff is available for older Chinese bikes overseas but you need to be a bit of an 'Internet Sherlock Holmes'.
