Good evening gentle people.

Do any of you use one of those inexpensive ebay tracking /tracker devices and if so which one would you recommend?

Something like a TK102 (Example Below)

I'm not too sure how accurate those GPS trackers are and how frequentluy it updates its position. Can the signal be jammed?

I've got a road angel biketrac device fitted on my bikes but it's £300 + £100 annual subscription instead of £30. But, for that price, it does include tracking and recovery. It's pretty damn accurate and updates every 10 minutes.

It notifies your next of kin if you've had an off, OR, in my case, I get a text alert if I'm circulating a roundabout less than 20mph and with a bank angle greater than 25 degrees, i.e. getting my knee down.

It has live GPS and live speed monitoring so you can actually see your breadcrumb trail of where you've been via the Biketrac website. (You can disable the live speed monitoring).

The Biketrac works by using GPS, GPRS mobile frequency and Radio Frequency. So 3 independent methods for tracking, triangulating and locating your bike.

As with any trackers, it's a case of hiding the module, otherwise you'll find out the location of where your tracking device is, but not necessarily your bike.

Give it a go and try it out, but I'd happily recommend the £300 biketrac over and above an alarm!

The TK102 works ok. You can ring fence it so if it moves out of an area it'll tell you. You can ping it via sms to find out where it is. You can get it to use gprs to send location data at intervals to a web server.

If you're trying to use it for anti theft shizzle then if your bike is shoved in the back of a van it'll be useless. If some scrote pushes you bike down the road to see if it's got a tracker then it'll work.

That's about it.

I have one of these on the frame

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-MOTORBIKE-SECURITY-STICKERS-Alarm-GPS-Tracking-Device-Motorcycle-Bike-/111742702268?hash=item1a046252bc:g:8KAAAOSwPcVVzK8U

I figure it may deter the casual scrote. If someone well equipped wants it they'll shield it with an emergency blanket making gps pointless.

If it were up to me it'd be rigged to envelop them in a cloud of cyanide.
