Too mainstream. Appears in movies people have watched.

I like the idea of mini disc. When did you last see someone actually using a mini disc player? The hipster appeal is strong. Remember, I thought of it before it was cool!

Hey, I still use minidisc. All my old band's practices were recorded using it and I can't be fucked to put them on the computer. I'm about as hipster as Mark Corrigan.

Get rid of the subframe entirely, just a single seat with nothing behind it.

Instead of the fire extinguishers (it's been done) a couple of jerrycans for the fuel tank. Twin tank, two fuel taps, one per carb. Tranparent hose.

Remove front mudguard, avon safety mileage tyres for that pre-squared look.

On the obsolete formats idea, laserdisc-projector headlamp. The only disc is will play is Tina Turner - Private Dancer.

Agree about the tail piece, it's a bit more streetfighter than Tarquin... They seem to 😍 over stubby 'clubman' racer style seats.

As for the tank, what about hiding two 'tanks' inside a pair of artillery shell casings? Hipster douche meets steam punk.

I used to be quite live and let live about all this stuff, until some guy dressed like Ace Rimmer rode past me on a chop/cafe/twonkmobile yesterday whilst I was parked up. I had an urge to chase him and pull his beard off.

Strange.

to do list:

pod filters + rejet
put wiring and battery in tail
wrap exhausts
mount silencers (maybe)
mount the tanks with fittings
get a headlight
oil and filter change
fork seals
wrap upper forks
gaiters
tail light
paint wheels
add KTM killswitch and throttle tube
paint headstock
paint bottom yoke
paint swingarm

then it'll be done.

So are you going to use shellac over string instead of proper handlebar grips?

Certainly not. No matter how "form over function" these idiots are, I don't think i could bring myself to do that.

I almost retched at that. No way could i do anything that gross.

Plus I'm aiming for the pipe and tweed suits rather than the grotty leather vest and staffie

You know when you're modifying one bike part to fit to another, and it fits really well, and all the electrics can just bolt into place on the new stuff?

Happens all the time right?

I literally think the CX electrics were predicting the future with this. The seat cowl "legs" are also the exact width of the battery, so no need to make a battery holder as the cowl will hold it in place.

All I need to do is extend the terminals to the seat unit, and that's the electrics done.

Not much has happened to be honest... Majorly waiting on parts to arrive

Finished the wiring, and got it to a tidy/usable state using real connectors as opposed to twisted wires from days of yore...

Added a single cable throttle assembly from a KTM450, and switch gear, wired using OEM honda plugs.

https://s14.postimg.org/6tr0521o1/14741091_10157563889525517_1286878319_n.jpg

Tail is still waiting on bolts to arrive. I've never missed working for a company with its own bolt store more than this. who pays for bolts ffs?

Tidied up the swingarm, rear shock. Still the brakes to do.

https://s14.postimg.org/6v0xyh3ht/14793772_10157563889355517_1304683184_n.jpg

Wheels attempted/started... Plan is to black the rim, and make the middle the same colour as the rocker covers.

https://s14.postimg.org/4rqiqt3ox/14797506_10157563889240517_1886466796_n.jpg

And yeah, other than the lack of brake MC, the bar-side end is pretty much done. Headlight and fork seals incoming, then just the front brakes to do to finish it off.

Fork seals done. front end kinda done, just some chinese wiring to decipher.

I'm getting rid of the extinguisher idea, as it'll cost too much in fittings. I'll stick an 1198 tank on it so the seat and subframe fit up to it nicely.

Needs an update.

Love it so far. Then again I smoke a vape shaped like a pipe with a 5" churchwarden tip, so I am an ultimate fag.

You appear to be building a custom ratbike by the way. Not entirely sure if that is the look you are going for. Then again, seen as everything is very shiny and new looking you might be a VW style scene kiddy.

*awaits pics of stripped rusty Ducati tank and unnecessarily primered seat unit*

I still feel like my CG build was the most hipster thing of all time.

https://i.imgur.com/rijeFpW.jpg

Damn thing didn't even have a sidestand. Surely the most twizzled mustache of all time.

Can't help but notice that yours is standing on it's own standard upright device. Wink
