When my motorbike was nicked in east London the police gave me one of their little report cards that they do to prove they've helped you.

It was written in about 3 languages, all sort of Urdu, Arabic or whatever in style. No English on it at all.

I posted about this around a year back. One of our national museums (The V&A museum of childhood) has everything written in both English and Arabic.

If it was a private museum I might understand it, but it will get something like 70-80% of its funding through the government, thereby through Johnny tax payer. It can't be of benefit to the country as a whole to translate everything into Arabic. Where is the impetus to learn English if that is the case?

I genuinely didn't know what the second most spoken language in the UK was: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/polish-is-second-most-spoken-language-in-england-as-census-reveals-140000-residents-cannot-speak-8472447.html

Polish at 1%.

There isn't, you're being replaced, you don't matter. Welcome to globalisation, now deal with it.

That's actually Bengali. A language with no history from Arabia or the Middle East in general. It originates from the southeast of India.

Those signs are from a small section of East London (around the Brick Lane area) dubbed BanglaTown due to it's then high concentration of Bangladeshi immigrants who settled there in the 60s and 70s. The signage was translated as a gesture to the cultural shift that occurred in the area and to acknowledge the massive economic gains the then run down and destitute area got from the immigrants that settled there.

So in short, it's not Arabic, it's nothing to do with Muslimism and it hasn't caused offence to anyone for decades..until now.

It just means they can sell the same product in the same packaging in at least two separate markets.

I was wondering the same thing, but it's strange unless their next biggest market's arabic speaking countries. Normally you would expect to see other European languages if it was for different markets (French, German etc.)

So Kellogg's infidels have been persuaded to accept the Isis coin in order to cheer homesick Jihadi Jonnies. Yeah, that must be it.

I would expect there are alternate packs with European languages for other markets. Not many global products have ingredient lists in every language on the same label. How could they? This one is presumably saleable in all English-speaking and all Arabic-speaking markets.
