EDIT, 6/10/19: BONUS FEATURE! Smile
As per my other Scotland Trip thread, this trip was inspired by a day trip; some shots from that one:

Schiehallion, at 1083m, is just two metres lower than Snowdon [/superfluous fact].

And I think a bit of cropping has improved this one:

I've exhausted my limited vocabulary of superlatives to describe your photos. All I will say is, that photo had me staring at it for 5 minutes, then I questioned my atheism.

What I think that photo shows is that rules are made to be broken. Never take a shot into the sun (sunrises and sunsets excepted)? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but with digital cameras, what have you got to lose by trying? Some of my best shots are taken this way. I get a bit tired of perfect lighting. Having studied watercolour painting, I'd rather achieve a more atmospheric effect sometimes, and this can be the best way to do it. It often doesn't look good on the camera's screen, but if the scene looks right to my eye, I'll try it anyway. All speaking as a complete amateur with zero technical knowledge of course Laughing

I love light and its effects. The times of day, or year, angles etc

Can't claim to be knowledgeable about art or photography, but I've always liked Joseph Turner, Constable and Albert Bierstadt

This is of Petworth Park, I lived down the road for 11 years.

I love everything by Albert Bierstadt
https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/Random/bierstadt2_zpsiedx3mjc.jpg

I have a large print of this in my living room. I love how, depending on the time of day, it really looks like either a sunrise or sunset. But it changes. Plus sometimes, I'm emerging out of the forest, and other times being consumed by its darkness.
Should probably cut down my cocoa in hot chocolate Laughing

I regularly try and take shots into the sun, but looking back through my photos, I rarely have success. But when it works, it really captures the magic of the moment. A great memory.

One of my favourite photos.
