Simple. Highest number of previous owners for a motorcycle you currently own...er, 'wins'.

I'll start the bidding with Peggy my winter workhorse at 11 previous.

yeah mrs.thx's old Yamaha sr125 had over 20 owners.

6 years ago the frame rotted through where the engine bolted on, and so got a weld, but the bodged up weld my mate did then failed. So sold it to another mate for £100 who tarted up and sold it to his cousin, who ran it into the ground and sold it....

saw it in town a couple of years back, resprayed, upgraded brakes and looking quite tidy.

I think my ZZR has 14 previous and one of those wasn't registered.

Have we had this thread before?

Had a Superdream in the mid/late 90's with 16. It was seized, and I only bought it for the plate (666 in it) because it was £20 just to get it out of the guy's garden and stop his OH moaning at him. Subsequently did raked it, and sold on for a very nice profit.

15 on my DT50.

That is one every two years, which when you look at it that way isn't so bad...

My old Fazer had high numbers. Can't remember how high but the Zed had 11 and most of my (older) machines were double figures so I don't tend to keep score. I do remember thinking 'Fark me, that's high' when I looked at the logbook, ie more than 20.

One of my cb500s has 11 - the rear drum braked one. Also, the mileages go up, down, up on its mots and the engine number doesn't match the log - shenanigans abound with this bike. But for all that it's somehow a better bike than the minty low mile one I own. It cost £750 w/ 24k on the clock - I bought it to ride after I binned the aforementioned minty one, which had to wait for a foreigner paint job by a mate of a mate at dream machine (it took AGES - but £300 for full bike was ace; paint's better than new now). I digress - the 11 owner bike will hit 53k this weekend. Or should I say the obviously replaced clocks will very soon display 53k on a frame and presumably running gear that has done closer to 76k going by the MOTs, and on an engine that's anyone's guess.

This won't win any prizes in this thread.

But when I bought my 2013 Street Triple R, at less than 18 months old, with 545 miles on the clock, I was the 4th owner..

Didn't put me off though, it was to me a brand new bike, immaculate, plus I paid £6200 for it at the time, pretty good saving, I sold it in August exactly 2 years later at £5950.

The seller had a story why each seller had moved it on and it all seemed plausible. He had owned it for 6 weeks himself, obviously got a bargain and decided in the end one of his bikes had to go (his other was a first gen street R), so they were both up for sale.

So yeh, don't necessarily be put off with numbers of owners.

Think my 7r had 6 previous.

My ZRX was bought from the original owner, as was my 2005 zx10r. Does make you feel better somewhat..
