Some time ago I read a BCF submission where a guy had brought a new car (I think it was a yellow fiat?) anyway he recommended a professional spray on coating that resisted stone chips and didn't need waxing to maintain the shine and finish.

Done a search but can't find it. Anyone remember the name or contact details, or product?

Thanks

I've no idea if it's the same stuff, I just know that it's used widely and I had a motor with it on and thought it was great.

Things like these coatings always get mixed reviews due to them being abused by the owners. You can remove the coating with certain cleaning products, so taking your car to a polish car wash might remove it, then you're unprotected and then have bad ideas about it. I had it on a car for a few years and in all fairness it was just as described. All I ever did was chuck some water and a sponge over it from time to time and it was gleaming and crisp.

You're supposed to apply a 'top up detailer' something ridiculous like once monthly; it's not maintenance free.

For that reason I'd just stick with a good quality wax / sealant. I only apply that 3 times a year to mine and it lasts through nicely.

Yeah I used that stuff for a couple of months and gave up on advice from a friend. Didn't make any difference once I stopped using it.
