Apparently wikileaks has a dead mans switch maintained by Assange. His internet connection has been severed and this has triggered the release of three decryption keys for portions of an 88GB torrent file that has previously been released as an insurance policy.

I don't have the file, it'd take me a week to download. One of the sections is UK specific, so I'd quite like to know what's in it.

Pretty low chance of anything interesting being in there though - they'd have spooged it already.

Not sure about that. Seems it was some kind of contingency plan for if/when they tried to cut Assange off via the back door.

Anyway John Kerry isn't pleased, whoever he is.

Running with desktop level drives, you obviously don't value your data. Hope the eco mode has been turned off on those.

Apparently there's stuff there that could hurt the Clintons.

He'll probably be dead within the week then. Confused

Does this mean Mr Rapey chops is now going to get it in the neck and the women who have been molested might as well be footballer victims.

I don't doubt the bias of the media for one moment.

I doubt it. The problem with Wikileaks is that they dump virtual forests worth of stuff and then rely on the legacy media to find and point at the significant tree when they have no particular interest in doing so.

Turns out the Ecuadorian embassy turned his internet off of their "own accord" as they state that "the don't interfere in other country's elections". More like they've weighed up that Clinton will win the election and they don't want to get drone striked to death.

Ironic then, that it would shut off his Internet and cause an automated process to start, which would release information that would affect* the election causing them to be drone struck to death...

The irony is certainly not lost on me. Trying to appear sanctimonious by claiming not to interfere with other county's elections by err ... interfering with another country's election.

Why oh why did he not seek asylum in the Russian embassy? I would have loved to have seen America's next move.

Strictly speaking, it being four years since the last one effects the election. Such a data release may well affect the election, though ...
