So weird one and the one I'm pretty sure none of us want to talk about - I wrote up a will this week, blah de blah the other half gets the house and whatever else I haven't pissed up the wall etc but then there was this bit about death that's kinda made me think

I'm not arsed about death, cremate me and have done with it , there's nothing that's going to affect me from that point on , but does anyone worry about their send off - who's going to be there , your 'ex missus' dissing your closest mates and bits of family etc that she doesn't get along with ????

Nope, I'll be dead, and my mates can handle themselves.

It's my missus being stuck with my family that would suck Laughing

I've told my missus she's welcome to let the state dispose of my body, rather than waste a bunch of money on a rip-off funeral. But also welcome to do otherwise if it'll make her feel better. Laughing

the missus as far as I'm concerned she can stick me in a cardboard box and chuck me in the canal Laughing

would prefer my mates to have a drink with me rather then in memory of me

mind you my dad has a pool table in his local with his name emblazoned on it

No thanks, the thought of you wrapped round my propeller and having your head pop up in the weed hatch when I open it up to clean said prop does not sit well with me!

Now burn first and ashes is fine, everyone emptys their solid fuel stoves in the cut so a bit more wont hurt.

My kids have already seen my will and I told them I was going to put in a clause that if there were any objections or infighting it all goes to the local dogs home. Laughing

Thing is I'm pretty certain to go before the missus being 10 years older so she can change anything after I've gone anyway. That being the case it's not worth worrying over, that's for sure.

I'm the same, 10 years older than my wife but I have no kids to leave it all to anyway. She'll see me off for certain.
It's up to her to dispose of all my junk. Laughing

My funeral will be fancy dress. However only a couple of the invites will say that it's fancy dress. Mr. Green

I have left detailed instructions* for a state funeral.

At the end, as the thousands of mourners hobble past my open coffin to pay their last respects, I want "Wake Me Up Before You GoGo" by Wham to be playing.

* I haven't

Yeah, because I didn't invent the poll tax or try to destroy the miners.

My dad has it in his will that his body's to be cremated with no service, and that his family (with the exception of myself being the executor) shouldn't be notified until afterwards. Cheerful chap he's Very Happy

I used to worry about death but after having to deal with 2 deaths this year (my first) and going through the process I'm not worried about it anymore. I'd only worry about my family spending too much on a burial and moping around afterwards. No spendy, no mopey Thumbs Up

The pertinent question is, Do fresh corpses go in the Green, Blue or Brown bin? Thinking

Should I meet a premature end then I must be buried, not cremated, and I hope it is raining.

Purely to annoy my mother-in-law.

I'm hoping when someone finds me, they'll look at my mangled corpse and think "How the bloody hell did he manage that?" or "What did he do try to do that for?"

I just need to come up with a plan now, one that takes about fifty years to execute. Laughing

I can be buried in the back garden Dance! Never knew that.

Home burials are completely legal so long as the bodies are placed at least two feet below the soil, as well as some other conditions. You have to satisfy the Environment Agency that you won't contaminate the water supply, with the burial at least 50m from any spring or well that supplies water

And think, you wouldn't need to supply any bones for the dog for ages. When he wants one he just has to dig up a bit of me!

What's the position of being preserved and put in a cabinet and then placed in front of places you disapprove of to scowl at them from beyond the grave akin to this chap. Smile

I once said to my other half that I was sad that my head stone wouldn't say "Loving Husband". When I became ill my family actually made inquiries in to me and her getting married in Hospital within the week.

Now I will get an urn with a stone marking the place.
