The design feature where the revs rise on right lock ,ie at traffic lights ,has just failed the mot on me and the tester wont budge from dvsa rules that say no increase of revs are allowed ,help please.

Adjust/re-route the throttle cable so it doesn't do it.

exactly what I thought when I was told ,but its in the handbook as just that .it revs up a bit when stopped at junctions ect , as the normal tickover is not good

picture of handbook?

I've owned a few MZs and this is news to me?

Also you are meant to blip the throttle when idling for any length of time. has nothing to do with turning the bars.

A reply from the mz club reads ,a ts125/150 tickover has to be set by adjusting the free play out of the throttle cable ,due to lack of a throttle stop screw ,done in the straight ahead position ,then you will find bars moved to left slows tickover .moving to the right speeds up tickover usefull if you dont want to blip the throttle at traffic lights ect ,this is a design feature you will find documented in the user manual .it works like a charm though why is a bit of a mystery,

I still find it funny that a design flaw that causes the bike to fail MOTs is classed as feature in Soviet Germany...
