Seems that Kawasaki are planning a 250 Versys too...

Sort of want, but is that 192kg? It might be, the Inazuma is a porker as well.

In the parentheses there looks to be a "/" It can't be that heavy ... please. And Versys 250 too?

I'd be interested in those!

Oh, it be. The Inazuma is 183kg wet, the eyeball abortion "F" model is 187kg, and that's with rather sad 13.3 litre tanks and no ABS.

https://www.motoroids.com/news/suzuki-dl250-v-strom-250-concept-unveiled-details-images-technical-specifications/

I hope they've made the electrics water tight now as I've had some issues in the past with my Inazuma blowing fuses. Was told by the dealer, that "It's not like it's designed to be ridden in all weathers???" Mmm, Commuter bike...
May actually be tempted to buy something like that, but owning an Inazuma, just want that little bit more power now. Would buy a 300cc + version if they ever did one.

Shocked I know Suzuki have a habit of making heavy bikes but that's taking the piss.

Having just carried a 25kg bag of spuds from the car, I wouldn't want to lift very nearly 8 of them!

You'll never deadlift your bike. think more along the lines of levers and fulcrums when picking it up. If you know what you're doing (And practice it), you can lift, well, anything. Harley, Goldwing, Pan Euro...

But for a 250, 190KG+ is lardy as fuck.

They look nice but 250cc and not much less weight than a Tiger 800?

I'm not sure what market they are going for presuming they aren't going to be cheap which was the Honleys big +.

I completely failed to pick up my bike (192kg as well) Very Happy You'll probably have to push your bike around at some point, you'll be constantly braking/accelerating/turning that weight so it does matter.

25bhp's going to be pathetic, an MT-09's 188kg, a striple 180kg. Accepting bikes are heavier and less powerful now* because progress, it still shouldn't be heavier than 160-170kg.

*I have a 90's 250 in my garden that weighs the same as a 125 and produces 30bhp Thinking

I'm so sorry. You're certainly in an exclusive group. With a whopping 41 sold since 2014, I can't see them bothering to import any more. Sad

On the link which Piercee posted, it's showing as 178kg. But aesthetically, that bike is a cat's pyjamas. I want one for looks alone.

Dimensions, seat height, fuel capacity are all slightly different as well. Thinking

178kg would be less bad, but I'd be astonished if it was lighter than the Inazuma. Suzuki and light don't really go together, especially in their bread-and-butter bikes.

I just hope that this new GSXR 125 will be a good enough and pretty popular bike, and also show that Suzuki can still make good small fun bikes too. They and Kawasaki certainly don't take the under 250cc market a fraction as seriously as the funky dark side Yamaha's and the big H.

If I were in charge at Suzuki or Kawasaki I'd have wanted to get my own version of the MSX grom out there like yesterday. And to out do Honda, I'd be racing to get a 200cc version into production too.

I'd guess it comes down to 'profit margin' as they both have some very interesting small bikes available is Asia. 'Euro-fying' them would probably be an issue though...

I highly doubt it, have you seen it compared to a Yam R125 or prilly RS4? it looks pathetic.

Also a DRZ400SM (available in other markets).

The GSXR would be best judged for how it rides, handles and performs over its looks or less than trick chassis spec. If it's the lightest bike and has the best 15bhp engine it should do well.

You don't need upside down forks and radial 4pot brakes and wannabe R6 styling on a 125 for it to ride really well.

I bet a factory fresh AR 125 would for a beginner be as fast round a track as an Aprilia RS125 etc.

All the GSXR125 has to do to beat the competition is have better quality than Honda and be cheaper than Yamaha.

Any 125cc bike from the super 4 Japs should be a winner. If they could fake a "Made in Japan" logo it would be No.1 no question.
