They mention on their site a 50 year history, but I can't find almost anything about them pre 2016...

I was looking at their "WOLF TEC-TOUR OUTLAST TEXTILE JACKET" in SMC and thought it looked pretty good.

Anyone got any experience.

I bought a Wolf leather jacket in about 1985 - still looks like new but unfortunately has clearly shrunk at least two sizes.
In those days their stuff was considered mid-range but well made.
Doesn't mean much now but they are still more or less mid (price) range and hard to fault.

I have some of their textile trousers and they're lovely, good quality, comfortable, warm and haven't let a drop of rain in, in 2 years. So, as a brand I'd be happy with them.

One of the things that's stood out on the textiles is that they have an ankle zip, inside there there's material to keep the two sections of material attached. This is so you can get them over boots. On every other pair of textiles I've had I've caught the zip on that and it's ripped. The Wolf ones, even though I've managed to catch the zip many, many times it's still not ripped.

I also bought (had bought for me) a Wolf leather jacket in 1988 (ladies size 8) as i was a little 14 year old damp squib. Wore it to a Monsters of Rock festival, and on my BMX for a year or 2. Laughing

It is now in my mothers house still in pretty good nick. I have heard that certain ones are collectable these days.......

I had a Wolf jacket in about '87. I wish I still had it now.

I bought for £40 as new Wolf 69 racing leather jacket - the best ever jacket, actually better then all of the new ones I have.

There is a company that makes made to measure wolf leathers:

https://www.harpers.eu/cat200_1.htm

The new Wolf textile range also looks very nice.

Wolf is quality gear IMO.

The only negative is for textiles they do not do laminated waterproof layer. Means if you plan to wear it during monsoon season the outer layer will get soaked with water. Still will be waterproof, but very heavy and will take ages to dry.

For cold and dry weather will be fine. Outlast has excellent insulation properties.

My favorite gloves are textile with Outlast and I wear them in the summer and now in the winter. Outlast keeps you cool in hot weather and warm in cold weather.

I'm a big fan, partly because their leather Nimbus jeans fit me, but they're quality too. I also have a Titanium 3/4 textile jacket which is great. The only disappointment was that the jacket wouldn't zip to the jeans because the zips are different. My next purchase will be a Wolf leather jacket or a Furygan.

Can't say too much about them beside during my last visit to J&S trying gloves on the "Wolf tech tour glove" is the only one that I made a note in my list and returned home thinking wasn't half bad and I haven't purchased anything but RST for a while.

edit: Jacket couldn't look more like the RST Pro Series Adventure 2 and or RST Paragon 5 textile jacket if it tried, hmm. Thinking

Some of the leathers seem a lot like RST stuff too

Are not RST and Wolf both manafactured by Motodirect?.

Couldn't say, fooled me into thinking they where a stand alone brand as I assume: Alpinestar, Dainese etc are. Well, there pops my bubble.

If they really are the same then just go with the RST stuff as it's cheaper.

Pro series adventure 2 has better vents but Paragaon 5 is the new-er out of the two and cheaper. Vents on the pro series are good but the main two front pockets are fiddly beyond description, I'd say better suited to touring rather than commuting since they add about a year and a half trying to get them open, zipped up, closed, valcro'd etc etc and that's coming from a faffer. Try em on and compare see what you think.

All the cold weather thus far and I've no need for the thermal layer as would be overkill. Wind collar is a nice addition.

Had a Wolf leather jacket recently, sadly grew out of it though. Really good quality workmanship, good quality armour and the fit was really good. I'd recommend them.

Most of it is off the peg manufactured abroad stuff now. You can but the handmade made to measure stuff in the UK still though.

I had a Wolf leather back in 83. cool as a cool thing as it didn't have a collar or tassels like the rest did at that time. Had it cut off in 97 after an accident.
