 |
|
When ever it rains, my bike coughs an farts, an generally runs like a bag of spanners (on 3 cylinders normally)
Coils have been replaced with 2nd hand genuines. The ones fitted previous had corroded, an trimming back the leads to good copper made them too short
Is there any quick an dirty tests to do, or is it a case of stripping it back an looking for iffy wires/ air leaks?

As "lingeringstink" said, make sure your plug leads aren't "tracking"!
Run the bike in the dark and check there are no sparks jumping from the plug leads to the engine!
If there are I'd invest in new plug leads, there are products that coat the leads in insulating goop, but you'd end up in the same situation eventually, IMO.
Have you tried swapping the plugs over and putting a known good 'un in place of the bad 'un?
I had a problem on a CBR600, turned out to be one dodgy plug, there were no internal or external signs of damage, but it had given up the ghost, replaced it and the problem disappeared! ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |
