As the title gentlemen, the past two weeks have moved rather fast, I went to the doctors as one of my chestnuts was feeling a bit harder than the other, she had a feel and said it didn't feel right, that afternoon a phone call from hospital for ultrasound, two days later its not right it may be testicular cancer, it needs to be removed.
another day and Im in another hospital having a full body scan, the weekend passes and in im for a inguinal orchiectomy (day surgery), 4 inch fuking cut just to the side of the pubic bone, roll on 8 days or so of trying to piss and shit properly and here I am just about able now to sit up on chair a bit lighter, got my scan results on Thursday which said they see no sign of disease spreading so it looks like i caught it early, still waiting for biopsy in the hope its something else.
Just waiting for a visit to Christies which they say is standard practice, so i may still get a dose of chemo. Any way another week off and hopefully back to work.
So cop a feel of your jewels because I thought I was outside the danger zone at 51,seems not.

And today biopsy was confirmed as a Seminoma, hopefully contained, so now waiting for appointment.

I had the same 8 years ago, healthy life long vegatarian, loads of sport still got the rock solid ball.
My doctor intially was shite, even though i told him from day one that i thought it was cancer it still took 4 weeks before he would send me for a scan, from then on everyone was great, i ended up with four cycles of bep, carried on working inbetween. I found it easiest to carry on normal day to day life rather than focusing on omg cancer.
Most annoying was the poor prosthetic option, I wanted one with a bell in or that light up when squeezed. The only one on offer was a perfect sphere so completely the wrong shape which I declined.

I was off work for nearly 4months, but over 6weeks was waiting for surgery with balls the size of an orange. (I did wait a while I guess before going to the doc about it).

My job is generally physical, apart from having to be able to drive, I wanted to be able to lift stuff, and work in enclosed spaces etc, before I could go back to work.

I had cancer of the bollocks thirty years ago with'secondaries' behind my sternum. Had radiation treatment lasted a month after having one ball removed. I can still make a sticky mess and I'm still going strong. The success rate these days is much better than then, well over 90% now. Best of luck, I'm sure you'll be fine !.
