Thought I'd make a new topic as that was just going to get filled with pages and its not even an Aprilia RS50.

So, I've bought 'it'. There's a reason why this is in 'New Bikers', I'm a complete idiot and wrote down Aprilia RS50 without even checking the actual make of the bike, I just presumed it was an Aprilia because I think a year ago he said he was going to buy one, Clearly not as it says PEUGEOT ON THE SIDE and XR6 S ON THE RIGHT FAIRING. I'm a idiot. But, that aside. The bike looks absolutely mint. Here's a picture: https://imgur.com/a/69rMO Needs a good wash as its fairly dust and got a few spider webs.

Oh my, I was riding on it first gear in the car park and wow is it an amazing feeling to actually ride the bike and not sit on the back. AMAZING. It's surprisingly not as squeaky loud as I thought'd it be.

Checked in the maintenance book that the spark plug was to be changed or checked every 2500km and I'm sure he hasn't done that as it doesn't start electrically you have to bump start it. Want to buy a DENSO IRIDIUM POWER SPARK PLUG but not sure if spark plugs come in different sizes. Will take the old one out and see.

Charging the battery fully now as I've already took fairings and things off just to get to it. Will see if that helps.

Wow, am I excited. I'm not even sure if i want to sell it lol! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Before you do, please explain why you want one.

Sorry, bike wont start electrically and want to buy a Denso Iridium spark plug as I've seen some good reviews of it starting in the cold, first time every time and has a prolonged life time.

iridium plugs are designed for longetivity. Copper plugs are better for reliability for starting. I wouldn't bother with iridium plugs in a 2T.

Is it spinning the motor on the starter?

Put a standard plug in it, save the extra tenner or whatever the iridium crap cost to put towards a battery.

I'll see tomorrow, I think sometimes it was and sometimes wasn't, cant really remember now what it done just because I was too excited lol. Will upload a video tomorrow. And you'd suggest me to buy a copper spark plug then?

If you can't remember what happened when you pressed the starter AND still bought it, I'm giving you no advice at all.

It's all on your own head.

You can start the bike up by bump starting it, holding clutch in 1st gear and push then let go off clutch, boom on. And, I'm pretty sure the motor was going but I'm not 100% sure as I cant fully remember. To add, it did start up with the electrical button after he arrived and turned it off. This must've been because the engine was warmer.

Warn me about what? I knew it didn't start electrically before I even bought it. Question

And yet you bought it knowing that. That's what the "oh dear" is for.

If you have to ask the basic's on here, then buying bikes with issues, and probably not small issues, is going to turn into an expensive learning curve for you. Bravo for having a go, but I hope you have a hefty wallet to throw at it when you fuck things up (You will, everyone does, myself included, it's how we learn).

If it starts up once the battery is fully charged, I'd spend exactly £0 on it. Just get the V5C in, quick wash, then sell it ASAP before you're tempted to start tinkering. Or riding it (I assume uninsured) just to the end of the road / just round the block / just to the shops, oops Police Police Police

I'd be testing if the bike will actually charge the battery before I sell it.

I don't really fancy the idea of crying 16 year old with pissed off daddy on the doorstep, lowers the tone of the neighbourhood.

To be honest, I'd really fancy a go on one of these. I don't think I'd want to own one or use it as a serious bike, but ridden with the right attitude and in the right place, they've got to be a bit of a laugh, haven't they?

Honestly, rode it up and down in the parking lot first gear. Agh soo much fun! It feels so quick too. Has the same engine as the Aprilia RS50 I'm sure. Also very light so easy to turn and park up. Gave it a nice wash: https://i.imgur.com/7vd7n4L.jpg

In a bit of a sticky situation, I want to make the motorbike SORN but cant until I receive the V5 log book. Should I tax it with the V5C/2 new keepers slip or just wait till my V5 arrives and then make it SORN without taxing it. I can't make it SORN because i have to wait till he posts it to the DVLA and registers me as the new keeper. It says at the bottom of the tax gov page
"If the vehicle is off the road
Register that your vehicle is off the road, eg you’re keeping it in a garage. You don’t need to tax your vehicle."
