Bike number 3, I can stop any time I want Laughing

I was semi-looking for one, but a bit put off by the prices, stuck a cheeky bid on this one and was very happy with the price. Lucky for me the bloke lived at the Lake District so it was a nice drive there, and a brilliant ride back via Hartside Pass and the usual roads Thumbs Up

Extra are:

Wings end cans with 2 baffle options
Scottoiler
Heated grips
Givi top box Sick

The bikes a proper beast, and also surprisingly smooth. It seems to be on par with my other 2 much lighter SM's in the twisties, maybe the really tight stuff would catch it out but haven't tried that yet.

Welcome to the club.

Mine's sort of broken, but I'm sure you'll enjoy yours. Laughing

Three things dude, well 2 and a bit anyway.

1 - fit Oberon clutch slave before original gives out, not that expensive.
2 - watch out for oil leaks a) rear of cylinder - this is the one that's nasty if it happens and b) in the gear position sensor where the o ring fails and leaks oil down onto exhaust. Cheap and easy to fix that one.

Jealous. I've been looking at the 990 SMT more and more as a potential replacement for my R1200r. Looks good in white as well.

I wanted the 2013 white one with the orange frame at first, and also under 10k miles but to lower the standards a bit in the end Smile

Yeah the clutch is apparently meant to be crap. It is due a major service so I might get that done at the same time before it causes issues. Also needs new front pads which I bet aren't cheap. Issue is the owner did the oil and filters a month ago, but dealers will be charging winter rates soon so I'll end up pissing expensive oil down the drain basically if I get it done soon, unless you can drop that part of the service, I'm not sure.

Haven't had any time to ride the thing lately, still haven't tried it without the baffles in the exhausts. Not exactly good riding weather lately either, I'd rather just hammer overtime at work until the weather picks up, then go back to normal hours and enjoy myself. Plus buy lots of bike bits Very Happy

The oil system on the LC8 is somewhat more specialist than your 600 quid shitter.

KTM require liquid gold in their bikes, it really is expensive Shocked If it was normal 10/40 I wouldn't be so tight about it.

I already make sure to park away from the riffraff aka Jap bikes, Euro bikes only thanks.

I think KTM owners should be nice to everyone, more chance of getting help when we break down Embarassed
