Is this the same thing as blue parker lights & tinted visors? Never been pulled for above for over 2 years. (had em on 125cc as well)

My mate hasn't been pulled yet on his bikes and they've had 7x5 plates for years and his current bike is also ASBO loud. Do the law actually care/look out for smaller plates if they aren't pisstake small?

I've been pulled over while wearing a tinted visor and blue parker lights and an illegal exhaust and none of those were mentioned at all, I was let go with a little warning for riding one handed, which was bloody ridiculous anyway.

I don't really care about the £60 fine if I'm caught because it comes with no points, I just want to know if anyone else has been pulled for a 7x5 plate so I can gauge how many times I might be pulled.

You've gotta get caught first. Sell R6, buy R1, never worry about getting caught.

Blimey hundred quid? Maybe settle for 8x6 then. It's just the normal size is absolutely massive. Never bothered me before, but on an R6 it looks wank.

Do "The Law" actually look at motorcycles at all?

Given that I haven't been stopped in over 20 years, I'm inclined to doubt it.

Ran one for ages with no issues. Was even followed by traffic police on a duel carriageway for a few miles and wasn't pulled. Got a 7x5 on at the moment too

I have a 7x5 and frankly plod couldn't give a toss. They'll only do you for it if they pull you on suspicion of whatever they can make up and use it as an excuse to 'ave you.

Then it sounds to me like you'll only get pulled for it if you're being a careless nob in the first place, or just really unlucky. Lot of people have said they haven't had an issue.

Probably similar to the whole tinted visors/loud exhausts shit.

Welp thats my plate ordered.

This, on my Green laner it came with a 7 x 5 flexi plate thing, never had an issue in 4 years or so.

basically why I got pulled. Sped off from the lights and failed to change up so sounded like I was going quicker than what I was.

I've got a small plate with a non standard logo taking up a big chunk and I've not had any issues.

Buy a registration number with fewer characters and trim down the plate. Legal and win.

There is no legal fits all size for plates they just have to confirm to the correct spacing and font sizes so a shorter reg can run a smaller plate completely legally.

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/533255/inf104-vehicle-registration-numbers-and-number-plates.pdf

You'll find nothing in there stating a motorcycle must run a 9x7 plate.

Hooning down the M58 like a loon @ 110+.
Unmarked cop car pulls me over.
Tells me "87.5mph average over a set distance" and "3pts + fine"
Me - "Dammit, I already have 3pts and I've only had my licence for 2 weeks."
Cop - "Is the plate small?"
Me - "The bike is totally stock as far as i know"
Cop - "Shame, if the plate was small I'd give you a fine and no points"
Me - "It's the most ridiculously undersized postage stamp of a licence plate ever in the world"
Cop - "£30 fine, on yer way"

£100 million dollars.

You know what we need to be safe? A wiper for number plates.
