Purchased a oneplus 3 to replace my old oneplus 1, now i have to wait feeling like an excited schoolboy waiting for my new toy to arrive Laughing

Annoyingly i'm having it delivered to work...but the delivery estimate has landed on the week i'm off work, so i'll have to ride in to get it.

Anyone else get giddy and nerd-cited when awaiting new tech? I think I have a problem...

I used to work for a well known Merchant in Docklands and hated it when delivery was confirmed to site but I had to wait for the messengers to give it a tour of the building before it was popped in my pigeon hole. Cost a fortune as I always bought something from the vending machine next to the post point every time i checked Very Happy Very Happy

I bought a Oneplus 3 at the beginning of October. It arrived on the 24th. That was a long-ass wait. But well worth it. It's a fantastic phone.

Not meaning to sound sarcastic because I like new techy toys too, but what major new advance have there been since they most all got competent 3 or 4 years ago?

I have a MotoG first edition with 16GB and not really felt need to update except the camera is crap.
But I have three other cameras which have more features than any phone so not bothered.

OK it hasn't got 4G but then 3G is a rarity here (North Yorks). In fact being able to send a text is a rarity ... don't suppose new phones actually do something really useful like ... stay connected better Rolling Eyes

I've been told I'm eligible for an upgrade next month.
Currently have a 64GB iPhone 6.
6s? 7... nothing new.

Not moving back to android and haven't kept up with what's worth having anyway.

Sim only for me now until something worth having comes along.

It's funny you should say that. My phone prior to the OnePlus3 was a Nexus 5, and I find that the new phone has a much stronger signal pretty much everywhere; same network, same SIM card. GPS signal is also much, much better. Antenna technology moves on too, but no phone manufacturer will ever admit that their older phones had crap ones.

Done a lot of digging around and I'm still going for the S7 Edge. I was temporarily swayed by the Oneplus 3's 6gb of RAM but the screen quality and 2560x1440 of the S7 is a nice size.

My G3 had the same resolution and similar screen size of 5.5 inch and I really liked that phone. I'd have kept the Note 7 as it was that good but the S7 Edge is the next best thing and it's not far off the same phone pretty much.

Was looking at the Z5 Premium as it has 4K resolution and would look amazing in VR but I'm just not keen on Sony.

S7 Edge arrived this morning... win. Transferred from Pixel and took to Carphone Warehouse. They refunded me £160 that I paid for the Pixel... except I didn't pay £160 for the Pixel but I will have that, I spent about 8 hours in total going in store and on the phone, ultimately I've lost a lot more in income.

Happy with the Edge Thumbs Up

Oh and I got another Gear VR too... £60 on ebay, thank you.

looks like I purchased just in time, showing on the website as out of stock so won't even let you try and put an order in now.

Protective case turned up, going to slide a print out of the home screen and put screen protector on the top and play pretend.

S7 Edge looks decent, a few reports of overheating apparently? Personally due to what happened with the note i'll be avoiding samsung for a while, moreso as it's about twice the cost of the 3.

what was wrong with the pixel out of interest?

Nothing wrong with the Pixel, just didn't personally like the overall feel of the phone Vs the price of it. Didn't feel like a £750 phone, felt like a cheap one.
