Well they've been talking about it for a while and it's finally here in the UK. This one arrived today, we think it may be the first one to be registered here?

Anyhow I went down for a look and took some photos. On first inspection it doesn't look to bad at all, no obvious flaws in the build quality or the materials used. This one is provisionally sold, it will be getting registered and road-tested next week sometime so I'll report back on how it rides if you're interested.

Obviously I'll be able to keep tabs on it as it comes back for services and repairs etc so will update on how it fares out in the real world in due course.

If anyone wants to see some close-up pics they are in this album.

Seems like a lot of bike for the money, but time will tell I suppose.

so £100 less than a YZF-R125 then.....
Certainly food for thought, and interesting to watch.
What's the Brand-Name?
Any inside on the assembler?
What it based on?

That's not bad looking. Look forward to seeing how this goes.

It won't be long before the Chinese do what the Japanese did after WW2.

Engine looks like a copy of Kawasaki's ER6 twin, infact, frame looks like it's almost exactly the same too - just the plastic pannels are different and it has an extra pannel by the rear shock.

Look forward to reading the reviews and more info on this one.

Hmmm? interesting times, could this be the beggining of a price war that will benifit the new bike buyer. ?
£4400 is a lot of money to take a punt on!

But then I took a punt on a Hyosung (Korien?) and so far that has been ok Thumbs Up
A lot of bike makers are upping thier standards, so why not the Chinese as well

Saw one in an article a little while back, and by the look of it , it does`nt look to bad.

What make is it ? and where can we get hold of them.

It looks a good bike and i'm sure it will sell bucket loads in time. I find the established brands are getting a little expensive for many of us, so an alternative is what we need.

This is the gen off the website but I'm not sure if it's the manufacturer or the importer? As I said, I don't want to spam......

Model: WK650i EFi

ENGINE parallel twin cylinder,
8 valve, liquid cooled

DISPLACEMENT 649.3cc
TRANSMISSION 6 speed manual
MAX POWER 70.7Hp @ 8,500rpm
MAX TORQUE 62N-m @ 7,000 rpm
COMPRESSION RATIO 11.3 : 1

FUEL SYSTEM electronic fuel injection
STARTER electric
LUBRICATION pressure and splash

BRAKES hydraulic discs

DIMENSIONS(LxWxH) 2120 x 780 x 1100mm

FUEL CAPACITY 17 litres

My initial impression was that it was very similar to an ER6, with a bit of Z750 styling thrown in. Another friend said it had the look of an Aprilia Shiver.

That does look quite nice with low enough price, am I right in assuming they are the brand also known as white knuckle? If so MCN did a review of one of their 125's a few years back I think and didn't have too many quips

That's only £600 cheaper than a new 650 Suzuki Gladius. I know where I would put my money, and it would be on a known brand with credible dealer backup and spares.

2 years down the line with a proven record it might show some credentials but for now personally I would rather punt the extra £600.

Just my 2p worth, Nick.

Have just looked up the above mentioned review on the MCN website and that does state that WK / White Knuclke machines are built in Taiwan. Not sure if this is the same company!?

Almost looks like they've bought the design and tooling for the mk1 er6-n from kawasaki, front end and plastics are different but the frame, engine and swing arm look spot on identical.

I've had various chinese and some are okay. I had one quadbike, a taiwanese things, two stroke , 100cc auto. It would never run right no matter what. To be fair it was like 12 years old so I guess not bad quality. It was just a POS with the way the engine was designed though.

Now if they'd of slammed a four stroke engine in there It be alive now still probs.

shame.

No, not the same place. £4199 is the retail price, £4400 is the on-the-road price from the place my fella works. Like I said I'm not trying to sell it!

The engine is made by CFMoto, who are definitely Chinese.
