You're trolling right? Laughing South Park should have been killed off years ago, Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park all ran out of ideas and became really unfunny, but SP became the worst out of all of them.

At least Clarkson & Co. haven't forgotten the formula that worked.

I agree.
I lost interest in all of the above mentioned pretty quickly, except maybe the Simpsons but only because my kids wanted to watch it.

Its quite emotive for some of my colleagues who ask 'How can you not like it?', particularly South Park.

Classic SP was brilliant. This new long season arc thing they are doing is very "meh". I still watch it because it does have its moments but I wish they could come up with some original single episodes again.

They were all brilliant years ago, although for me the early Simpsons episodes are the only ones I can still watch, as they were so witty and well done.

The old Top Gear episodes are also still good to watch, but again I actually prefer the earlier ones as they were a bit more serious. I also think with obvious humour you remember it more, so obviously it's less funny when you watch it again.

Just caught episode 2, getting better.
Pros.
Few good laughs, mostly Clarkson induced.
Outrageous Aston Martin.
Cons.
Military rescue bit could have been considerably shorter to give space for another car section or even, dare I say, a bike bit.
I wouldn't mind seeing a celeb on, not doing a lap, just dicking around a race/off road track or something.

Getting there though. Thumbs Up

So someone likes something you don't, you're gonna have to try to get over it.

So, are they actually going to get celebs on or is it just a recurring joke? I skipped most of those in TG anyway, unless it was someone I'd actually heard of.

Not a fan of the American driver at all tbh.

It's still good though Thumbs Up

So you post the fact that you don't like it but concede that your not the target audience anyway.
Like it. Laughing

I think the beeb have copyright on the "Star In A Reasonably Priced Car", so GT can't use it, hence the sleb dying before they make it to the studio/tent!

Im not into cars that much, the original Top Gear i would watch now and again but liked the Specials where they were out touring countries etc. The live die repeat i thought was pretty funny apart from Hammond I'm finding him more and more annoying. When JC got stuck through the window and said the terrorists were doing bad things to him and just shoot him had me in tears lol.

TBH that was usually the dullest bit of TG. In the early days it was fun, but it just became a mechanism for so-and-so to pimp their movie or new album or whatever.

When they actually started showing clips of movie trailers, then I seethed. Boy did I seethe.

It's become a bit... Sit-com.

Some of it has the old spark, but they need to stop trying to force the comedy and just let it come like it used to. It's less mates dicking around with cars, and more like an episode of Friends with some car parts thrown in.

Mmm. Even when they packed May off to that chav rally, he didn't interact with the natives in any way. It's painfully controlled and stifled stuff.

What was the point of the tent (apparently) being in South Africa, when the majority of the episode was filmed in Jordan?

It feels like they wrote the script to spend the budget.

I think that was Clarkson satisfying his ego, as his chatshow had been cancelled. It was the most boring part of the show.

It feels like they're on a bit of a learning curve at the moment but even having said that, it's still better than the new TG.

I think they visited other countries to appeal to their global audience, and clearly have the budget to do it.

Certainly all the US based petrol heads I know much prefer the Brit Top Gear to the US counterpart

The tent was purely a method of avoiding a lawsuit from the BBC as far as I can tell.

That american driver is useless, in episode 2 he wasn't even pushing that car and casually chatting while supposedly doing a 'flying lap'

why didn't they just get some random proper drivers? god knows there are enough high profile ones around at the moment looking for work, the F1 tv coverage is filled with them on both channels
