You'll get much more interest if you show us your idea and let us (tear it to shreds) critique the design. It's the BCF way. You're welcome!

I would advise looking at a cool and rad way of transporting the lock rather than the lock itself. The disc lock market is saturated. Good chains are expensive and heavy. You need to come up with something that makes if easy fo transport and use every time but is also as secure as the market leaders.

P.s honesty is the best policy. Dont say you're a keen biker if it ain't true. Pic of you on your motorbike with a can of tuna please

I'd look at a way of immobilising bikes against ride away thefts instead of locking them up. Locks are only as good as what you lock them to, and anything not locked to an unmovable object or security railing is easy to lift or wheel away.

Bike tracking, electronic immobilisation while already well served by the security market is a better thing to concentrate on.

Either that or designing devices to maim or kill would be theives, and if possible nasty stuff like chemical poisoning or asbestos fibre sprays into the face etc. I don't suppose you'd get away with this as a university project though, and product testing would be fairly difficult I would imagine too. Still, at least OP will never earn enough to have to pay back his student loans.

I thought when away from home meant when I was away from home (ie leaving the bike whilst on holiday). That's the only time I secure my bike.

Why did you assume my gender?

Anyway, despite your offensive assumptions I have filled out your survey with information that will help you design the most excellent motorcycle security system ever.

Where was your survey, you can't unveil a product concept on the internet without doing a survey first!

that would be like a crash topic without the paint diagram
