Probably because NorthOne have realised they've got a gold mine in their pocket and want to make monies.

Not yet watched.

Same way he's released another book after the last one came out five seconds ago, monies.

It was insipid TV and offered nothing in the way of insight or knowledge. I like Guy but he is becoming something of a performing monkey what next, Celeb Big Brother?

It was boring, only watched it cos nothing else was on/happening. At least with the India program he bought an Enfield and entered some sort of motorcycle race. This time he helped build an electric bike then stuck it in the boot of a car.

I like Guy too up to a point but the way TV types have scrambled to find roles for their new personality is sometimes excruciating. The nadir was his role on One Man & His Dog. I only caught a glimpse of it but Guy had no idea what he was looking at. The TV types had obviously assumed anyone with a bumpkin accent must know all about rural affairs. Still, good luck to him. I saw "Our Guy in China" on the TV schedule but chose to half-watch something about coal miners on BBC One.

You lot don't half know how to moan!

I quite enjoyed it. I like his inquisitive nature, I'm sure that's not scripted in. If it was, his acting skills are immense. I think he R not capable of actings.

Granted, it's not Attenborough-grade telly, but it's inoffensive and makes a welcome change from the normal xfactorvoicedancinggetmeoutofessexstoragehuntdinewithme bullcrap.

After seeing inside the motorbike building factory, it isnt hard to work out why so many of the cheap bikes are so shite, the hit and miss building by unskilled locals.

Now, my contempt for Chinese build quality aside, all that was shown on the factory looked fine to me, and the only worker we found anything out about at all was university educated and had 4 years on the job.

I think I remember reading that he signed a contract to the ch4 production company for what he thought was one series (might have been the barge one) but he didn't realise that he'd signed up for 4 series' or x number of 1 hour episodes. I reckon he's been tied into that for a bit and then just got used to the money and not having to do 130mph+ laps round the island to make ends meet.

I disagree with this.

I can confirm that on more than several occasions we have 'fully' moaned about stuff. Folded arms

The program had no aims or objectives other than Guy Martin going to China. We were introduced to the inevitable secret policeman and Guy defies his authority.....by getting his hair cut and later walking down a residential alleyway. Not exactly cutting edge investigative reporting, Guy looked bored. I was bored.

For Monday night telly, I thought it was half decent. Yes, nothing paticuarly new or fascinating, but frankly after a tough day I don't want to have to think

If what was filmed was restricted I would have expected the commentary to reflect that and it did not. Having travelled widely in the Soviet Union and its states after the break up of the CCCP I could see nothing other than GM and his crew saying "Look how naughty we are" getting our hair cut in a back St". If you want to see life as it is..Travel alone, a TV crew is a great hindrance.

If I was giving a UK TV production team a guided tour of my country, I'd probably leave out the bit where crops were being fertilised with human excrement.

I might be a bit more interested if there was a bit more bike related content.
Even if it was something along the lines of "Look at these funny bikes they make"

As for the electric bike, nah! I`d rather have a diesel bike Shocked Smile

There's a sludge treatment works near me, where sh1t from all over the South East is brought in by road to be turned into fertilizer.

"Turned into fertiliser*" is different from using the stuff raw. If it doesn't bother you then invite the neighbours round to shit in your veggie patch.

*Is this fertiliser being used on farms? Or dumped somewhere that our food doesn't come from, like commercial woodland?
