wiring colour codes

changing indicators, on one side of the bike front and rear wires are ,
left hand side, black and black with white stripe
on the right hand side of bike they are,
right hand side ,black with white stripe and a green wire


any idea what these are,

Don't tell us what sodding bike it is will ya !

It sounds like Suzuki colour conventions anyway

Black/white is ground
light green - right +
black - left +

so the indicator wires are yellow and black , so what goes to what, and many thanks for the info ,you know your bikes lol

I meant the actual wires coming out of the new indicators not the bike, my mistake

If the indicators aren't LEDs, it doesn't matter if you don't get the wires the right way around.

We really need to know what the indicators are first
as some may have the ground wires strapped to the body.
A meter is your friend here
If a continuity test shows one wire is connected to the body that's deffo ground ( black/white wires)
If no wires have continuity to the body, then you have little chance of shorting anything out and the polarity isn't so much of an issue

As said, bulbs will work in any polarity, leds may or may not depending on the type.
Cheap ones will probably be polarity conscious, some fancier/dearer ones may have driver circuits that work any way round
