Who's got one?

Currently I'm loving EVE and Until Dawn and Super Stardust.

Untill Dawn has actually made me jump and shout out, I find it genuinely terrifying and unsettling and haven't yet manager to play 2 level consectutively. Eve I bought after playing the demo for 2 Minutes as it is cool as fuck however little annoyed that the 'story' is about 4 minutes long. Super Stardust is just fun.

The games aren't all brillant some are pretty naff and the graphics aren't great (Early PS3) however the tech REALLY works. I'm proper excited now for what they can do in the future.

I will cream myself if they do a decent Star Wars game, a mix of Lightsaber/Shooting/Flying would be totally fucking amazing think Rebel Assault with VR/Motion controls.

Downside is the cost. If you just have a PS4 you need...

PSVR £350
PS Camera £40
Move Controllers £70 (optional for move games)

I was 'lucky' as I bought the Move controllers for £20 SH years go to play the Resi-Evil lightgun games.

Game seem to be either cheap or expensive. At lot of the games are small and limited and as such cost £15-20 any 'proper' games liek eve are £50

The Short games are a good idea TBH. If a regular game is like a pint the VR games are like a shot. It is best for short goes of intence gameplay a ten minute level of Untill Dawn is enough for me before I need a break. (That said I played Eve for 2 hours last night.)

TL;DR it's very expensive but is very good, considering this is it at launch and I imagine a ton of better games/improvements are bound to be coming it is amazing.

It utilises the old PS3 Move controllers?

Getting in to VR now is basically like paying a lot of money to be a beta tester. It will be fun to see it all evolve but also a little frustrating.

Have you got Batman? It's short but incredible, worth the £15.

I have had a couple of 'bugs' but nothing frustrating at all. it really is a good experience. I would certainly call it a successfully launch.

I saw the videos of it and wasn't that keen TBH, I'll keep an eye out for it cheap.

While it's good, the PSVR could be better. I honestly believe the PS4 Pro release a month after the VR is telling - the PSVR really needs the extra power of the Pro. All of the current games seem to suffer from the effects of no antialiasing which the Pro could fix.

Obviously Sony didn't want to say that the Pro is what is really needed and have downplayed it somewhat. There is custom hardware in the GPU designed for VR, I'll be keeping a keen eye on the results.

Had a go on some fairground, ghost train game and it was pretty good.

Shame the move controllers were flat at the time, but nearly made me think about investing.

I've played on a Vive, Samsung Gear and Google Cardboard. I went to a VR Bjork festival on the weekend. I'm not buying it. Not yet. The best thing I've played so far is Project Cars, but even that was just moving your head around instead of the right stick.
Unless I win the lottery, I'll stick with regular ol' Playstation games.

I bought psvr Saturday,
I wasn't going to but thought fuck it,
I had a 400 pound rebate which paid most the cost,

Having not tried any vr before maybe I'm impressed easier which suits me,
I was impressed with how good it was, I got ps vr world's with my bundle and also bought until dawn as it was cheap,
Works well with the move in my opinion, made me jump a couple of times too,

I downloaded all available demos from the store and still working through them at the moment,
I wasn't impressed with the driveclub demo though, looked awful to me,

Still unsure whether to chuck 15 quid at the Batman game

Gonna get the Pro in November.

I'm gonna wait for some NEW games. I've got PS4 and so far I played 9 remastered PS3 games and one new PS4 exclusive game (DriveClub) and Doom. I got the PS4 for free, I wouldn't bother otherwise.
Also, what's with the PS4.5? Have they went mental? Confused

It's an admission that whilst the old PS4 can run vR, you really should get the new one Smile Interestly it doesn't have a 4k blu-ray player like the Xbox S, a lot of people are upset about that for some reason.

This video alone has made me want to buy it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkPSZMFYSzk

I don't really care about the graphics being sub-par (hell, I still play 20+ year old games) - as long as the game play is fun and immersive then I'd be happy.

I already have a PS4 and move controllers [from the PS3 days], but I need to buy a usable force-feedback wheel (Logitech G29 - £180 - I have a Driving Force Pro that works on the PS3 and PC but it's irritatingly incompatible with the PS4) a camera (£39) PSVR (£349) and the game itself (£35), so that's £603 - plus I've been eyeing up a Playseat Challenge (It's a folding cockpit chassis, so it can live in a cupboard) so that'd be another ~£150 - bringing the total to around £750. Which I guess isn't bad considering that's for a complete VR driving sim set-up.

Not sure I can sell the idea to the wife, so I'm planning on buying the bits over the next few months. The VR headset itself seems to be massively popular though, so I suspect it'll be another month before I can find stock.

Be warned, out of all the demos I've tried, DriveClub had the worst graphics - the distance resolution was terrible.

Hence the joke -

Why did the PS4 cross the road?

To render the other side.

*shrug* - still looks fun, I guess an upgrade to PS4 Pro further down the line could be the order of the day.

I wouldn't bother with the G29, it's the same old internals of the G25/7. Go for the belt drive Thrustmaster T300. This package comes with a nicer rim and decent pedals, the base package comes with a plastic rim and crap pedals.

I think vR in racing games is a bit of a waste. You're only really looking for the apex or cars alongside you, a TrackIR does the same job, and you can build some neat cheap versions using FreeTrack.

I think the PS4.5 and VR is a great way to sell another PS4 to people who already own a PS4, genius really Smile

Bit like GTA V launching on PS3 / X360, then PS4 / X1 and then PC... they sold that game so many times over to the same people who progressed up with their hardware, me included, I bought it on launch for PS3, then twice on PC (wanted a spare copy for my other PC).

I put together a freebie DIY head tracker some years ago for my PC (it could've been FreeTrack) - essentially it was an LED on a baseball cap with a webcam (same principle as the PSVR) with exaggerated in-game movements (e.g. a 1 degree head movement translated into 5 degrees in-game) - it worked well enough but I've always fancied a triple monitor set-up on a sim-chassis - PSVR with the Playseat Challenge would give me a more immersive setup - but more importantly it'd give me a setup that I could easily pack away into a cupboard.
I used to be heavily into combat flight sims too (CFS/IL2) - I'd be a pig-in-poo if a decent combat sim was launched for PSVR.

Good info about the wheel though - PC/PS4 cross-compatibility is a nice feature to have.

I may go VR one day but I'm going to wait for the price to drop a tad which in turn will give the whole thing a chance to evolve into a little more than a potential flash in the pan.
It does look good at the moment though. Thumbs Up

Yeah, I put together one using an Eyetoy PS2 camera, wasn't very good but it gave me a chance to try it out. Never really lusted after a triple screen setup but curved monitors look interesting:

I do want a rig. I've been looking at DIY options being a bit cheap Smile Something like this although ideally I'd want something that doubles up as a workstation. An Obuttu R3Volution's a bit expensive tho'.

I heard someone say the next generation will be good, as the resolution isn't there yet. I'm also waiting to see what kind of damage people are gonna do to their eyes. I'm fairly sure a life of gaming/staring at screens has already been detrimental to my eyesight.

Been looking online but not sure what to get,
Also might pick up batman vr tomorrow, when I bought the headset at game I signed up for there reward points and got 8 pounds worth, Also they gave me a 10 percent off a vr game coupon which needs to be used by the end of the week,
Can pick batman up for next to nothing
