Very Happy

Who says I'm trying to change your mind?

Remember months ago? I want you to have an informed choice. You made a scathing remark back to me.

This was entirely intentional. Why? It's because you're removing the PPI defence.

The PPI defence is that it was mis-sold or people didn't understand. This allowed people to claim compensation or remedial actions.

In admitting you're informed and you know what you're voting for you remove this defence Very Happy because guess what many of you will make excuses and say this isn't what I voted for! Take for instance the election of May. People keep saying she's a remainer!!! So uh why did you vote for her then?

It's fun when things like this are being proposed.

I didn't vote for that! I can hear the claims already

Scrolls up a bit uh yes you did.

EU officials say Russia is using disinformation to influence the outcome of this week's European Parliament elections. How seriously should their warnings be taken?

"Winter isn't the only thing that's coming - so is the risk of interference in our elections," said Sir Julian King, the EU's commissioner for security, in a press conference late last year.

Their primary suspect is Russia. EU officials say the Kremlin has for years been using disinformation to sow discord and confusion across Europe, while undermining voters' trust in the European Union and its democracies.

Russia flatly denies such accusations, calling them "completely false" and "unsubstantiated". But some commentators believe voters' discontent with the EU - the very thing Moscow is accused of stoking - should not be pinned on foreign actors, but rather on domestic politics.

All I know is what I want Brexit to be, and what I want Britain to be. Which won't necessarily happen, but I know what I would want Britain to strive for. And it isn't what the EU wants to be. I don't care what anyone else says, as they may want something different, but they shouldn't try to tell me what it is I want. Likely, they'll be wrong, especially if they extrapolate it from what others want.

When I vote for a political party here in the UK, I do it knowing I won't get everything I want. So I make the choice of which party I think will get me closest to that, or at least has the potential to do so. It's all I can do. Voting for Brexit is no different.

I paid very little attention to the campaigns around Brexit, the bus stuff and all that, as it didn't change my own views on what Britain should be.

Most sources also say Russia's disinformation campaigns and other activity actually haven't had much effect on Western democratic processes.

Neither campaign persuaded anyone to change to change their mind, all the people we spoke to had already made up their mind. All the campaigns did was get the vote out.

Brexit voters mostly voted on the European Union, whereas a significant percentage of Remainers just voted on a personal dislike of NIgel Farage. Hardly informed pro-Europeans. Remain could do a lot better if they dropped their patronising attitude about you being dump/lesser because you have a different perspective to them.

Remain likes to blame "the other", the "the foreigner", in this case the Russians.

I have just suggested I don't like being told what I think. You have just done exactly that with others. Imo, this sort of thing needs to stop, whichever side of the stay/leave argument you are on.

Another "balanced" piece of reporting from the Beeb...

What I love hearing sooooooo much over and over and over and over from Remoaners is "people have changed their minds, no one really knew what leaving meant, they we're lied to..." etc.

Please could someone cite some MSM pieces where they get an actually real person to admit "I voted leave but now I'm not so sure" 'cos I haven't seen any!

The government have a take it or leave it attitude when it comes to judicial decisions so it'd only be a moral victory Sad

Thanks for the screen shots, Ste, that page seems to be shut down now.

I don't usually use such crass terms but they do strike me as "yoghurt-weavers"

Anyone want to bet what this bloke gets for throwing a milkshake over Farage? 28 days surely, or will they make an example of him, as this is getting out of hand?

There were some reports of a person punching Corbyn instead so maybe it's been misreported.
