How about you look in your crystal ball and let us know? I'd use mine, but they're apparently only issued to Remoaners.

Cool I didn't think you were the religious type.

So effectively you're just praying. That of course works all the time. Just like those Americans send hope and prayers to mass shooting victims. Mass shootings dropped to nothing because of the power of hope and prayer. Very Happy

Me? I don't need a crystal ball. I just look at past indicators of performance and use them as indicative predictions of future performance.

Kent Lorry parks 2 years of wrangling and nothing happened.

317 days left and you're saying that everything will be ready with absolutely no evidence that it will be other than hope and prayers?

May has been to a Sofia EU meeting.

Here is something you will not see in the UK news today.

Insightful. UK critics say we won't be ready but both sides are indulging in a staring competition. The EU seems to have no plans on how to go on without one of its few net contributors.

Edit: Oh, you changed it to a picture of the PM on the end of a row. So what? Who's that woman in the top row, far left, barely visible. Make something of that.

Looks to me like there's a lot of under-represented wimmins there. Obviously sexist.

Please be sensible. We're not Brexiting, and everything will continue exactly as before except we'll be paying more, with no representation.

I just look at past indicators of performance and use them as indicative predictions of future performance.

My reply was simply based on your position of "Harvard are the best and "their" paper which has not gone under review nor approval must be believed as an accurate predictor of the future" and of "...that (not) crap poly that anybody can get into".

Live by the appeal to authority, die by the ad hominem.

Fallacies up the bum.

Academic authority:

A fair and balanced news source wrote:
Professor Michael Arthur from University College London, who chairs the Russell Group of elite universities EU group, had claimed that UK seats of learning would plunge from second best in the world league table on research behind America to 20th.

But pressed on the claim during a Brexit committee hearing in the Commons, Professor Arthur said: “I will confess I plucked a number out of the air.

“I don’t know but I do fear we could slip down those international league tables.”

So terrorscared, such therapyneed.

Hang on, there's more.

Duke Rees-Mogg of Earl wrote:
It is surprising that a highly esteemed professor just makes things up as he goes along when appearing in from of a House of Common select committee.

It shows the lack of intellectual rigour of Project Fear and a disdain for democratic accountability.

Sick burn, blud.

A fair and balanced source wrote:
But pressed on a series of issues by the committee, Professor Arthur was forced to admit that leaving the EU means that universities can charge higher fees from European students and will no longer discriminate against students from the rest of the world including poorer students from Africa.

He also admitted that despite claims EU students will stop applying to come to Britain because of the uncertainty of Brexit there had been a 15 per cent increase at his own university this year.

That needs to be on the side of a bus.

England is never going to be free from Scotchland. Sad

They screwed up their referendum and now the short, ginger poison dwarf who's already taken away their cheap booze is wanting to take their pizzas away.

Someone should put a tax on her addiction to prohibition, we'd be minted.

Hey, remember when the ECJ defended our freedoms by ruling minimum alcohol pricing was against free trade freedoms and prohibited it?

Oh, wait, I mean, prohibited it unless scotch.gov reaaaally wanted to do it.

Which was nice.

I'm wondering if we're going to see a rash of ministers feeling an urge to spend more time with their families / mistresses / rent boys when the full realisation of what they've got to do hits home, with the clock ticking down and a paucity of resources since Hammond has promised a hundred billion or so to Ze Project.

I can't find it now (must have been in his edited post) but Val claimed Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg had snubbed the UK Parliament in favour of the mighty EU. Well, it looks like they did what they do best.

Quote:
Mr Zuckerberg apologised for Facebook's tools being used "for harm".

But his testimony did not please all MEPs at the meeting, some of whom felt he had dodged their questions.

One leading UK politician later said the session at the European Parliament had been a "missed opportunity".

"Unfortunately the format of questioning allowed Mr Zuckerberg to cherry-pick his responses and not respond to each individual point," said Damian Collins, chair of the UK Parliament's Digital Culture Media and Sport Committee.

The format was very different from that of Mr Zuckerberg's testimony to US lawmakers in April. While the US politicians took turns to cross-examine the Facebook chief in a series of back-and-forth exchanges, the leaders of the European Parliament's various political groups each asked several questions apiece. The tech chief had to wait until they were all delivered before responding.

Mr Zuckerberg spent 22 minutes going through the huge number of questions put to him during the session and was able to pick and choose which to give answers to.

Several of the politicians expressed frustration at this, and one accused Mr Zuckerberg of having "asked for this format for a reason".

A spokesman for Facebook later contacted the BBC to say it had not chosen the structure. This was subsequently confirmed by the parliament's president, Antonio Tajani.

In a follow-up press conference, Mr Tajani added that the MEPs had been aware Mr Zuckerberg's time was limited yet had decided to use up much of the allotted period speaking themselves.

The ones with any sense of self-preservation will do so, with alacrity.

The longer they linger, the more the stench of the impending brexit disaster will hang about them.
No one will take the poison chalice from May and she has repeatedly proven that she will not grasp either the nettle of actually preparing for a hard brexit nor the thistle of trying to spin turning the UK into a Norway-esque EEA participant.

Mmm, Duke Rees of Mogg is making less than fully supportive noises, but there aren't 48 decent Tories left to trigger a leadership contest.

I think he knows it, and Sharia knows it, and she's becoming increasingly emboldened about kicking any sort of actual Brexit into the long grass.

Wut do? Defect to the DUP? Thinking

Mogg? Defect? To the Micks? It'll be a cold day in hell before that happens.

If he is as smart as they say I suspect he'll bide his time. While it *might* be salvageable at this point, the longer he waits, the harder it will be. Smart move is to let May take the flack for the flaming turd Brexit is shaping up to be and move in after to build.....whatever his weird esoteric views tell him the tories and the country should be.
