That makes no sense Confused If companies are still investing in the UK (which there have been loads), it shows they don't see Brexit as a big deal.

And if they decide to move out, they can also do it for a variety of reasons. That's why in a Brexit-related thread I'm considering the ones that explicitly move because of Brexit. Simples.

The ones explicitly trying to make a statement in other words.

Who will be the first to dump their new European workforces as soon as machines, robots, AI etc become more economically efficient no doubt, or just when somewhere other than Europe would be more profitable for them, and not give two hoots about those they discard. Oh, I'm so sad to lose them!

Brexit Deal - if you think you need to read all 400 pages... just read the headlines like I do.

FTFY.

Regarding companies relocating some assets, you could have found many examples of that well before Brexit, and for lots of reasons. They just had to make other excuses for bailing back then.

Well, there you are. After a fairly long meeting, Cabinet have agreed the transitional arrangement, whatever it is, and baseling for the future trade deal.

BREAKING: Theresa May admits stopping Brexit is an option now!

"The choices before us are clear: this deal...or leave no deal or leave all no Brexit at all"

Time for a vote of no confidence. Theresa the appeaser needs to be given the boot.

+1 you can't appease the gammons. It's about time the UK to have a leader that actually can lead and stop Brexit.

Justine Greening will decimate Corbyn and stop Brexit fine.

Excellent. Barnier says that we are certainly going, but they'll stay friends with us after our orderly leaving (so that's a change from previous vibes).

Markets will go bonkers tomorrow.

I think May’s doing a perfectly good job of sabotaging Brexit already, don’t you?

Do you not think putting a staunch Remainer in charge of Brexit was deliberate? It’s like putting Hitler in charge of the showers.

It's 50/50 whether there will be a vote of confidence tomorrow. Even before the statement it was right on the edge, this statement will have pushed a few more over the edge. It's also quite possible that they had the numbers before the statement.

Note that even if she has the numbers to win the vote of no confidence, simply going through the vote will do so much damage that the should be PM in name only.

He also thanked both of his teams (the Vichy British and EU) ones. A bit of a slip up, but so true.

They always wanted a deal, they just know how to negotiate.

The Columbia name has been dropped before, so let's take a closer look:

Columbia Threadneedle wrote:
By facilitating the transfer of European customers to our existing Luxembourg range we will ensure they can continue to access our best investment strategies in a Ucits-compliant fund, regardless of the final agreement between the UK and the EU. For EU investors, the transfers will remove uncertainty regarding the future status of their investment in their home country.

That plan was announced in May with a September deadline, so by now it's done. The company manages £6 billion.

Small beer. We're just signing up to give away £39 billion for no return.

May has to be the most stubborn, self serving twat we've had in power since Blair.
How many more have resign before she admits to making a right balls up of this? It's almost as if her job was to make a right balls up of it.

Idea

Do you not remember the slimy headed muppet on the morning of the outcome of the referendum? "shit's real yo, I'm outta here"
[nervousness and fidgeting]
[every other tory ever takes one massive step back, military stitch up style]
[Teresa May looks around]
"at least take me to a field of wheat before bending me over"
..
..
[country disbands]

If Boris or Gove fancied the job, why didn't they go for it? Could it be because they realised that nobody can provide a deal that suits all parties, and that it is a poisoned chalice therefore?

I suspect Boris is waiting for it to go tits-up, and when it does he will swoop in like a shining knight, perform a bumbling Churchill impression and lead the Tories to a narrow election victory based upon a no-deal manifesto. We will enter a prolonged period of recession, the Europeans and Asians will be blamed, the far Right will rise and he will be proclaimed a national hero for standing up for Britain.

Marvellous.
