https://www.mcia.co.uk/Uploads/Statistics/Press-stats-November-2016.pdf

Pretty good month, everything up strongly over 2015, and over the year-to-date average rise, except mopeds which continue their slide. Y U no ped, yoofs?

Some usual faces in the best sellers, some eye openers. The R1200GS, of course, CB125F, PCX 125.

But the 125-650 was topped by that bizarre "Scomadi TURISMO LEGGERA 200" again (wut?). I've not seen the KTM 690 ENDURO win the 650-1000 category before, and the SPORT/TOUR category is a joke now, being won by the Lexmoto ZSX-F 125 (yah rly).

It was a stonking month for KTM, coming a strong 3rd place. New bikes? New deals? Then a longish tail down through the usual suspects. Harley outsold both Kawasaki and Suzuki, which I continue to find surprising. Are they being ridden, or just polished?

Portrays the right image for the Bohemian Shoreditch set as they drive in for their £50 bowl of porridge at some trendy eatery before strolling over to The Bike Shed to have their beards trimmed and perfumed.

The Actual Wut?

Ha, it was crowdfunded, although the promised 300 engine has shrunk down to 180cc:

They come with a waxed cotton jacket. Actual fact:

I was dead against these fake knock off cheap 4t Lambretta's when I heard and saw them first.

But, it shows and seems that retro classic is still big business and a sales cake ready for a market stall. While they have alot of the original authentic styling, and some sensible and slightly trick for a 1960's scooter parts fitted, that's not the impressive thing.

And while having a twist and go four stroke heart, is not a turn on, it's still a plus point and means that the machine could exist at all in 2016.

The impressive thing, is that the company behind it has put in alot of time and effort with the far eastern manufacturer to get this designed, styled right and made suitable to put into production.

The marketing of these won't appeal to the first time twist and go buyers that want a cheap Chinq to go to work on and throw away when it's knackered. But it does seem to have an appeal to the fair size retro scooter crowd, who though they like to be filing ports and jetting their Amal smoothbores on their expensive fussy and temperamental TS1's, they would like a cool old school looking but also reliable scoot to tour on and go on rallies which is what their scene is all about.

Well i sold the Li125 as it was a pain to start, ride ,stop and was slow
This though,i do like the look of
Too much money though, the 125 is better value
Might have to stratch buying a grom now

Although theres a special edition proper Lambretta being released in april next year,no prices ,but they have described it as a premium product
Sounds expensive !

Needed to do a lot of pre reg to keep dealerships?
Needed to do pre reg because the imported stock will not meet legislation due in 2017?
An outbreak of fools with more money than sense?

Could be any of the above, but they do seem to keep selling through the winter. We've seen it in previous years as well.

I can't figure it out either. Maybe one of us was drunk. Do you feel a lingering sense of shame, and have you skipped a period?
