As above. Who has them and what's your thoughts on them? Dry and wet weather riding please. Thinking of these for my next set on my K6 Gixer thou.

Thanks.

Not used them myself but know a few guys who run them and they say they're a great tyre.

Tons of grip in both the wet and dry, quick to warm up the only downside is they don't last as long as a full on touring tyre like the PR4 or Angel GT.

I fitted a pair on my S1000RR to destroy Cadwell Park.

Mission was accomplished.

Grippy as feck for a 100% road leagal tyre.

I have used Metezelers on my bikes for years and this tyre was the grippiest from a standing start to race ready.

They will certainly not last like a more road use tyre but the fun factor is worth it.
They are competion tyres so will only last a couple of weekends on a track at a moderate push round.

Probably ruined by a Racing God.

Confidence inspiring from the get-go wet and dry.

Pretty much wearing out both tyres together (which i take as a good sign of a grippy front).

Front goes off a bit with more wear on (as in borderline illegal), feathered off giving some judder under hard braking.

When they're done, they're done. My rear went from on the wear bars to nothing between Edinburgh and Braemar.

had a couple of sets on my s1000r.
much better road tyre than the oem pirelli drc.
they tip into corners in a very encouraging way
changed for a set of mich pp3 that i hated.
i now run a 77r on the front and and a roadtec 01 on the rear.
plenty of grip and a bit longer tyre life.

Oh... I think Guy Martin had them on his S1000RR when it bucked him off in Ulster. Or other Specialist Metzelers.
😊

They are not a competition tyre at all, they're a sports road tyre intended for all weathers. Confused The Racetecs are intended for faster road riding and track use.

Back to the M7's - I've got them on my road bike, and I can echo all of the above comments, they're excellent in both dry and wet grip, not too bad for wear either for a sporty tyre. They're not as extreme as a Racetec/Supercorsa etc, but with enough sufficient grip for real world road use, in all conditions. Can't go wrong with them. Thumbs Up

There is nothing wrong with a Racetec K3's in wet weather. I commute with one on the front, certainly good for faster road riding, ride smoother in wet weather but same corner speeds. I like the pointier shape a lot, gives a lot of confidence, Im not sure if the M7 is the same shape?

Metlezers site list the Racetec wet grip as one star, M7 as three stars. Doubt its a measured performance, it'll be an assumption made from the slightly less tread siping. The compound is excellent and also surprisingly durable, getting 5-6k from a part worn track scrub front Laughing

I recommend mixing, race/track focused tire for the front. Best grip and quick steering. Pilot road for the rear - best wet and oil resistance and still good grip. Rear shape is not important.

Scrub Racetecs/supercorsas can be very cheap Very Happy

I have Metzler M7-RR on my S1000rr Best tyre I think I have ever had on a bike for all round use 100% recommend. I have had pretty much all the other top line brands and these just seem to be the most confidence inspiring tyre for me.

These things are tremendous. Been out a few times in the sh##y weather and they have a great deal of grip even in the colder temps. Really liking the M7's
