Hello, I recently bought my first ever motorbike however very slowly regretting getting this particular bike because of all the problems I've had with it. Basically it doesn't want to start anymore, if anyone can give me any advice then it would be much appreciated! Im taking it to a garage mid January however id rather fix the problem myself if possible.

Here is a link to the video of me trying to start it. The spark plug sparks with a blue spark, and also when I try the spark plug is dry when I check it. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,
I worked on a cbr125 2004 with a similar problem. Sparking, full tank of petrol but the spark plug was dry.

Im assuming its a carb model..

Underneath the tank there should be a tap with a fuel line going to the carb. From the same tap there should be a thinner hose connecting to the inlet manifold i believe.

This is the vacuum hose. Make sure its connected and not damaged at all.

What else? More information will be useful....

Like did it ever start, have u changed anything since it last started...

Also get a new spark plug or 2, it does make a difference when trying to get a bike started Middle Finger

is there a good petrol flow from the tap to the carb. also have you taken the petrol tank of for any reason then put it back on and restricked/kinked the petrol pipe.

I did take the tank off roughly a week or two before it died too see why my choke wasn't working. Would the bike run for around 60/70 miles if something was kinked?

The bike ran fine for about a month until now.
The problem I had was the the CCT wasnt doing its job however I tightened it an it fixed the knocking it was making. The choke doesn't work.
The downpipe was corroded partly into the engine so I had to remove that and replace the downpipe.
The only thing that I've done it life the tank up to see why the choke isn't working but it started to rain at the time so I put it all back and left it.
I'll be sure to buy a new spark plug! Sounds like a good place to start anyway

Is this from directly underneath the tank? I remember their were two hoses, one larger one and one thin one, I'm assuming the thin one is the vacuum hose you're talking about?

Also thanks for everyone's responses! They are very much appreciated

Right so it started after the tensioner and pipe fix...I'd look to pull the carb get it opened and cleaned and check out the choke problem...

What I do to make sure it's a fuel problem is 2 things...first check engine compression...then try start with starter fluid/easy start....if it starts then you know the problem is with fuelling...
