Putting on my old ski jacket on Saturday and I found £1.00, bought a scratch card on Saturday night and won £10. So I have come up with a small challenge for myself. I'm going to turn this £1 into a motorcycle by buying, selling, swapping items until it builds to a working motorcycle.

Step 1

£1 = Purchased scratch card
Return = £10

Step 2
£10 = Bought some ski boots with bag
Return = £20.20

Step 3
£20.16 = Bought Maplin 48W Solder Station
https://i1.adis.ws/i/maplin/N34FB_1?locale=en-gb&w=750&h=501

Clicky for online price

Return = not yet sold

There was a bike mag (PB possibly) that went from £1 to a fireblade.

There's a book about a bloke who swapped one red paperclip all the way up to a house if I remember correctly.

Be a bastard parking in Tesco's though, aim for one of those RainCaracyclePals™ safer in inclement weather, and traffic, The Way Ahead is…I'd suggest a model called the Vauxhall Insignia.

And me!

Another BCF'er dumped them on me basically. I was meant to be storing them for him for a few months but he's vanished.

Rusty Suzuki Freewind missing the plastics and a rusty TTR250 Raid if anyone's interested Laughing In the new year I'll be moving them to a local block of flats where the council will probably remove them.

I'd be over the moon with any one of them.

Do they run?

If they don't run then you could swap your ski boots for some parts?

Had to look up what a Freewind is.

Postage will be close to a tenner. I predict you'll be spending a lot of time hanging around the back of pubs.

You haven't taken into consideration peoples stupidity. People will buy almost anything if there's a story behind it. I once sold a completely trashed set of junior golf clubs which were £40 new for £45 because I said that I used them to get my handicap down to 4 while using them.

The clubs were in a dire state, I even took pictures and explained how bad a condition the were in. They just fall in love with a story... bonkers.

Buyer pays postage so as long as you don't undercharge for that then you're golden. Thumbs Up

Thus the red paperclip, which was more about becoming part of the story than the actual trades.

That's been done, but I guess people are still sending links to eBay / Gumtree adverts.

Best of luck.
