He even had a marker in his friend to target fix on.

I know this is serious stuff, but I just like how the lad, having a brand new bike, already put an open exhaust on it. There you have it, loud pipes don't safe as many lives as we thought. Thumbs Up

At least he didn't try to blame it on a stiff breeze - there was another [fairly recent] video from the US where someone did pretty much the same thing straight into a truck, but he's adamant that it was the wind. Rolling Eyes

Wow, a gentle bend and a brand new bike.... Maybe he should have got a nearly new bike and spent the extra on learning how to ride it properly.

Hope the guy is OK though.

If you stare at the rail, you'll hit the rail.

Anyone who poses on his bike like this hero did @ 1:36, is really asking for this to happen.

Reading the youtube comments, if he'd been wearing leather pants he would have had the option of lowsiding. Laughing
Wtf is it with US riders and "laying a bike down"?!

It's more their inability to deal with bends / counter steer that causes the problems.

I'm amazed that they even defend the guy in the comments.
If there was ever an advert to why you need to learn how to ride properly before going out and buying a bike that was developed for the track, then this is it.

His mate posted the video, and now the guy who crashed has regrets because he's getting some negative reviews. If you follow the Facebook link under the video, the guy who crashed says,

Quote:
This was my first time on this rode, and due to gouge in the road my front tire got caught in it and it whipped me into the guard rail. Still there was a point that I knew I was going to crash so I did my best to hit at an angle.

I own a 2015 R1 that is already almost all fixed from this crash. Reality is that I have unfortunately had 2 bad crashes this year. Yet both times I learned lessons that money can't buy... Yes this is my first street bike, no this isn't my first motorcycle. I understand my bike is many peoples dream bike and many wish they were in my position and could afford my bike.

Adding, Mercedes, penthouse in LA, you're all just jealous.

He survived motorbike, much danger, such hero.

Me, I can't even understand why he crashed never mind why he wanted the footage posted.
Then again I've seen a video of a guy who was crushed by his own truck (barely survived) and was adamant that he wanted a copy of the cctv footage so he could show people. When the head of H&S showed it to him on a laptop he broke down crying, realising what an utter idiot he'd been.

I think he crashed because it was p!ssing down and the road was soaking!

Shocked

Nope, cant be that either.

Id like to see these clowns ride on the roads and conditions we have over here.

That gouge he got stuck in must have been the Black ice equivalent, Black gouge. Plus sun in eyes and gravity inversion, could have happened to anyone.

I think it was all down to an incorrectly installed power band

I'm not seeing it myself. I'm guessing his first motorcycle was a PY50, this is his second.

That was halfway understandable, he got caught with a double apex and then the car fucked his attention. If it was a clear road, he would probably have chanced laying it over more, but thought fuck that as he's probably hit the car.

Most of the American squid crashes I see on Youtube are down to very poor riding on easy bends. I'm not sure I've ever been over into the incoming lane on a bend yet, I have come close a few times though, but nothing I couldn't handle.

They both took really poor lines, they both seem to think they were in control until they hit the barrier/wall. I'd call them very similar Smile

Well one was a blind double apex and the other was a clear road, but yeah bad lines both times, agreed.

Not sure how I missed this but woah. Perhaps I'm an overly cautious person, but I learnt as a kid messing about on my little mountainbike to know the trail before I decided to hit it blind at full speed and hope for the best.

Kind of interested what was going through his mind as he'd realised he'd missed the car, before flying off down the hill...
