I tried Rog, I tried But instead of continuing to pull out, he seemed intent in keeping me so when he did see me coming he slammed on the brakes. if he had just kept going, my weave would have worked ____________________ Riding: Yamaha MT-09 Tracer Occasionally Riding: 08 Suzuki SV650, Potato: 2011 Yamaha YBR Custom.

There are, but doing a weave is comfortably within mine. Not that exaggerated tippy-over one, but moving around inside your lane.
I do it in large part because taking concrete action gets my brain in the right place. I don't want to go through the disbelief stage before reacting when they do pull out: shouting "Whoa!" doesn't work.
No criticism intended on you, it sounds like you were both pro-acting and reacting, but the geezer was determined to head you off at the pass anyway. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Absolutely no criticism taken. I did all i could, within my only few years experience to avoid the situation and am happy with that and he is 100% at fault.
BUT, like with many things, you never stop learning and will certainly take what you said as something to add to my riding, as, although not certain, doing something like that may well have impacted the outcome ____________________ Riding: Yamaha MT-09 Tracer Occasionally Riding: 08 Suzuki SV650, Potato: 2011 Yamaha YBR Custom.

I don't exactly do a weave, just try to change position once to where a suspect driver's line of sight has best chance of spotting me. I'll always slow on approach to a car sitting at a junction though. But I still think Tracer had no chance in this case. The risk we take I suppose. The risk anyone takes, using the roads.

There are limits to what you can do, but I still assume they all are. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

So, here we have it.
-Coming down road shown in picture below, came round the bend, a bend well known for incidents, so I always come off the throttle on approach.
-Cars are known to just follow the car in front out without looking. Saw the blue car, slowed further, but saw it stop at the give way line. (his is minor road, mine is major)
-Looked into window, saw the man look right at me, so gently went back on throttle, but not much due to not trusting the van to just pull in.

Absolutely right, I didn't trust the drivers in their tin cans before, even less now. ____________________ Riding: Yamaha MT-09 Tracer Occasionally Riding: 08 Suzuki SV650, Potato: 2011 Yamaha YBR Custom.

Well, we can at least take comfort in chanting "Witnesses, witnesses, witnesses, it's all about the witnesses."
We did say that, right? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
