Chain adjuster snapped on one side

I was tightening up the bolt on one side and it just snapped due to being immersed in a rust pit. How f'ed am I? Is it safe to continue riding after tightening up the rear axle nut?

How can I get the snapped bolt out and how much is this going to cost me.

If you take the splindle out, it looks like the chain adjuster can be removed.

Just buy another one.

Looks like the adjusters will slide out, so will order some new ones.

Most important question - is it safe to ride while I wait the replacements to be delivered?

I would, as long as the axle is done up tight.

You're fine riding without the adjusters as long as the wheel is aligned corrected and the axle is tight.

Can't you just replace the bolt that snapped?

Havn't taken the adjuster out yet as it's getting dark and I need to ride tomorrow morning but given how tough it was to move the bolt, I would be surprised if it isn't seized into the adjuster. Is there any way around this? Put it in a vice and drill through the bolt, then insert lever to twist it out?

You can just buy the adjuster (threaded rod cannot be removed from block) and replace it directly. Once the axle bolt has been removed you can just take off the swing arm end cap as you already have and pull the adjuster block out. Dead simple. It's normally pretty nasty in there and full of water (despite clear drain holes) so it's probably worth taking out both sides once a year just to clean it. A little grease around the adjuster block helps prevent so much corrosion in my experience.

See attached picture of my 2010 to see what it looks like without the rust.

Just slung it back on there temporarily so I can move it from the ABBA stand onto different bobbins so I can take the swing arm off so that's why theres a couple of bits missing in the photo for anyone who wonders.

Remember to wire brush all the shit out of there and liberally coat in some rust inhibitor so you dont find it like that again.
