Hi all, I have specks of tar and bits of burnt boot rubber on my exhaust and need to get them off. What is the best thing to use to get it off?

Autosol may work. it will take a bit of elbow greease and about 20 mins of polishing, but it will get it off. its like liquid sand paper!
My dad polished "not for road use" out of his exhaust with autosol. and that was engraved in!

Good luck!

Ben!

Never used autosol before, but you could use a metal polish afterwards to bring back the shiny finish.

If its titanium DON'T use petrol or any other oil unless you are sure you can get it ALL OFF otherwise when the can gets hot it will stain it Permanently. Crying or Very sad

My 2002 'blade has a titanium can and pipes, the best thing to clean them with is Cif (used to be called Jif). This type of cleaner is recommended by Honda in the workshop manual. Just use a damp cloth and some Cif and plenty of water, titanium comes up like new.
