Am I missing the problem here? The OP gave all the info in their first post. The bike has a tiny 8.5L fuel tank, including a tiny reserve (1.6L according to the specs). Using the reserve would give him <20 miles... actually MCN might have the answer '100 miles range' Thumbs Up

What happens then?

The bike runs out of fuel?

A low fuel light comes on?

The fuel gauge reads empty?

Unless I'm missing the invisible edit:

Hi all, i only passed my CBT in august 2016 i currently ride a Yamaha 125 wrx. i use my bike to commute to work daily Monday to Friday, its a distance of 35 miles there and 35 coming back a total of 70 miles per day, 175 miles per week.

the fuel tank on the Yamaha is just 8.5 liters. which is small i know. i only get 3 journeys out of a full tank, this is only giving me just over 100 miles, i have to fill up pretty much every day !!! i use A roads and pretty much stay at 55 mph.

Is this normal for this bike?

thanks Middle Finger [/b]

A quick google would have given him his answer but the information was there. He's getting the most out of his bike in terms of range, I would have expected slightly better from a fuel-injected 125 but that's a different debate.

OP should fill the bike to the brim, run it until it dies record the distance travelled and then measure exactly how much fuel it takes to reach the filler neck again.

His accurate mpg will then be revealed which has to be better than 56mpg. Ok the small tank of less than two gallons won't see much over 150miles I'd expect, but range and mpg are very different.

I've recorded about 40-43mpg before from KMX 125's and 200's using the same method, so I can't see how a 4stroke cannot do much more mpg?

Again, fucking useless statement if you don't say how many litres that is.

19.5 litres.
