Not for years

If it's a R32 Skyline shell, they're worth quite a bit now, my (now Ex) missus threw mine out Evil or Very Mad

My first decent RC car was a Sand Scorcher I bought second hand, complete with the sealed body

Depends if you're counting mental or physical age?

I had a Tamiya Toyota Celica GT-Four when I was a kid, I still have it somewhere, it has a HPI Lotus Exige shell on it right now. I also have a brushless Associated SC10 trophy truck which is flipping awesome. I haven't used it for three years though, my LiPo's swelled and I've not bothered to replace them.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Mine was pretty beaten up when I got it, and certainly didn't get any better while I had it either

I had a Tamiya Super Sabre 4wd at age 11-12. I got back into it again when I was about 19 and put a new faster motor and better speed controller and battery pack in it.

Can't remember how much I sold it for in my early 20's with a box full of spare parts and tools. But I went though a stage in my 20's of selling all my stuff, my Fantic Trials bike, an inflatable dingy with a Yamaha outboard, and a load of car parts for Metro's and mk1 VW polo's.

Years ago I had the complete Traxxas Revo family along with a FG Marder. Kids came along and lack of space meant I sold all but the 16th Revo which I still bring out every now and then.

Yeh stock come with 23cc motors if I'm remembering right. Fast enough for a park bash. Can do jumps with enough run up which is impressive given it's weight.

The build quality isn't as good as the HPI 5th scales but you get what you pay for. I found a full strip down and rebuild is prudent as not everything is as tight as it should be and changing the screws to stainless with loctite helps.

If you do go for one don't be tempted to "upgrade" to alloy arms. It's a waste of money as you'll end up with bent arms after every run. Just have a good supply of stock plastic arms in your toolbox, you'll go through them pretty quick.

Vintage tamiya collectors are as mad as Vintage wine collectors.
That persons going to pay that cash then never take the kit out of the box. Rolling Eyes

Used to race 1/10th touring electric at a local club but moved away and lost interest. Rolling Eyes

[bittermuch]May get back in to it, but even in my early twenties I couldn't compete against the younger lads who had begun to get themselves shop/supplier sponorships and had all the best gear [/bittermuch]

I've got a TT Sledgehammer S50 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJ1LCZvgZuo ) - had it for a fair few years now.
8.2cc with a 2-speed box (plus reverse)- can go over pretty much anything, good fun in the woods or on the beach.
It's too noisy though, quite fancy an electric one.

Like James I raced and still have a 1/10 touring car.
I have an Xray T4 at the moment but had a schmacher 13.t

I won my first season I raced in my class, but the next class up is much faster. I don't do it frequently enough to get better. I'd be slow now.

I raced full size cars so doing everything backwards.

I did not have the funds when I was younger. I'd like to learn a bit before my son is old enough so I am informed.. Did some kart race testing this year but to do anything properly is not cheap.

I don't think you need sponsors or the best kit when you are good. I think it helps when you trying to beat good people.

Had a Tamiya Super Hornet as a first car Smile loved that, great fun.

Then I had a Tamiya Izuzu Trooper, a Tamiya Renault Alpine A110 and finally some crazy nitro powered Clio V6 with an anodised blue aluminium chassis. That thing went like poo off a shovel! Twisted Evil
