I inherited a Gazebo, had it has a smoking shack for NYE, sitting downstairs on new years day hungover to buggery and it flies past and smashes into next doors fence.

Long story short I have broken/bent parts of the frame I am going to replace. I have acquired replacements bits for everything apart from one length.

It a piece of 8x18mm Box Section, I think it's 30-40cm long. I can't find this anywhere. It has to be this size or it won't fold up. As a last resort I was going to cut a bit of wood to size but it would be a bit fiddly.

Anyone have some lying around or know where I can get some?

If you have the make of Gazebo, could you not contact the manufacturer for the correct replacement part ?

I'd check out the local trading estates for someone that fabricates that sort of stuff. Often as not you can walk in to those sorts of places and they're happy to knock up something for a drink, breaks the monotony a bit.

I did this a while back when I needed a bit of skirting board that hadn't been made since the 1930s. Found a timber cutters, they didn't have an exact match but cut the nearest size down for me on the spot.

Larger B&Q's do odd bits of angle iron, lengths of rod/flat steel, threaded bar etc. Not 100% sure if there's box section in there, you'd have to go and visit as it's not listed on their website.

Are you certain it's 18mm and not 3/4", the latter would be closer to 19mm but easy to mis measure is all.

I've got loads of 3/4 about if you want a length.

I've got a Gazebo from an old BCF BBQ that I thought still had life in it, until I tried to actually use it.

I think it's in Kent right now (I'm not), or in West Yorkshire - can check next time I'm there as that sounds around what's typical on pop-up gazebos for the roof sections.
