Partnering McPint on the new Fireblade.

That was unexpected!

It'll be interesting to be see if he can be anywhere near competitive on a new machine after a year out.

Still got no chance of beating Hutchy or Dunlop though (in my humble opinion)

I'm excited by this. I'm now a bit annoyed I'm missing Ulster but it's my first year at the TT and the Gold Cup lineup should be top notch in September. I agree he's not on MD or Hutchy's level but it only takes a breakdown or two.

Josh Brookes to Norton is also really cool. Given the depth of field top 10s will be an achievement but hopefully it'll lead to him riding race-winning bikes in future years.

I love Guy, but if he does better than a couple of 3rds I'll be very surprised.

Thank fuck for that.
Couldn`t bear see him try some other half arsed record breaking attempt although he did want to break Nurburgring lap record which I would approve of.
After reading his books that pc of him and John looks a bit cringey.

His last two books he's been going on about how he won't race because he doesn't see the point of keep on keeping on because there's more to life than crashing and causing yourself serious damage - Ulster 15. Way the last one ended it seemed to me like mind was made up to carry on doing cycling events and likewise. Surprise return.

Also I recall him mentioning John in his book saying something like he doesn't get why he keeps on doing it year in year out and his age. Well, while I can't recall what was written exactly it wasn't favourable.

John was quoted in his last book as saying he would rather shove wasps up his arse than ride a pedal bike for 2,500 miles.
Can we have some captions inserted for the pic below...

Who else is there?

John and Bruce on new bikes. Dunlop, I'm not sure if what he's going is public yet. Martin? (Will be quick for Ulster as per and on a new bike). Hickman is the only wild card really, but I don't know what machinary he has. He'll be quick if on a BMW like he is in BSB (not sure what his package with Smiths is). Brookes on the Norton won't be challenging. Cummins seems to have lost his edge a little. Hillier maybe?

Isn't Anstey on the RC213V-S again?

It'll be cracking as usual and yeah Hillier is fast and has that air of a driven young man about him.

M Dunlop...what an animal.
I want them all to win but Martin less so.

Depends what Padgetts have to run, if Bruce doesn't hurt himself (and gets out of bed the right side) I think he could go close on the RCV.

It'll be a good race for sure. I just feel that a lot of people being on new machinary and Hutchy being on the beemer will mean it'll be a bit easier for him, and he'll be pissed about the Senior engine cock up in '16.

Hutchy will still be fizzing Laughing He's been doing rather well on track too unlike the other roadracers.
I just want John to retire now. He's a Ledge. I want him to have the opportunity to gloat for the rest of his life.

Rutter?

And I suspect no matter how much John plays it down, he wants to beat Joey's win record.

Yeah...I love the blade too and he makes John look young. Smile

Yes he doth protest too much. The new Fireblade is his only hope and a decent sized improvement over the old one.

imo Honda only signed guy for publicity gainage, he had his best chance with the tyco bmw & still didn,t win. in his latest book he says he should have quit racing 3 years ago ?. I'm a fan of him, but I honestly believe he has made a wrong decision to come back to road racing. mcpint will continue to win in ttzero until he beats joeys record & then retire king of the mountain Wink

Will be worth watching the first few races over in Northern Ireland to see where Guy is this season as he has always done better there.
As for TT I hope he has something to show but yes Honda have publicity more on their mind.
